I like their eyes, and the manes and tails look cute, but overall, they do seem kind of out of proportion. I think I'll reserve judgment until I see them in person or at least until we get more pics.
That's how I feel, since these are just the prototype images. They could always be better or worse in person but I hope for the latter.

I was so happy when reading the title of the topic, but, well, no I really don't like those toys. It's great that they use G1 characters.

Lately I feel that every company that is making G1 figures are trying to stylize them and in some cases the stylize does not work.. what wrong with keeping them in their classic not so weird proportions style :(

Can we get a non-facebook link, please?

I'm really torn.  It's like buying these will convince Hasbro the old ponies have viability in the modern market.  However, the design is really meh, and I don't like pony articulation.  I guess if I see a Wind Whistler and/or Fizzy I'll buy them.

I can't get the video to play.  Ugh, I hate Facebook's new formatting.

Showed them to DD and she wants Firefly, Buttons and Scoopity-Split. As long as they don't cost me an arm and a leg I can oblige.

SCOOPITY SPLIT!! LOVE IT! :lmao:

My only concern is that the website shows their other toylines for sale - and their non-blindbox vinyl toys seem to vary from $30-55. Each. :yikes: I love them, and I WANT them ... but my wallet will die!!

Some of them are only like 16 bucks. That's not too bad.

I saw Gusty, Minty, I think I saw a purple unicorn and  Sundance! I love Sundance!

I'd ask who the purple maned unicorn is, but given Scoopity-Split, they probably mashed another two together. Unless I'm mistaken and that's Blossom.

Ugh, I wouldn't buy Wind Whistler or any other Pegasus. Firefly's wings are awful! You'd be better off buying a regular one or getting an alt-posed custom.

When I first saw the title I thought WHAT?! Funko Vinyl G1s? Yes please!! But anyways still exciting that we are getting some G1 ponies! They are actually really cute there heads are just a little too big. The detail on them is quite good, I hope we get more G1 ponies like blind bags, brushies, and funko.

I thought the same thing, Funko G1s would be extremely awesome

The idea is cool but I don't like the gigantic head, no neck, twisted wings and the symbol in the top of the back   >_<

I'm disappointed so many people are complaining on there (I get it, but I just wish more appreciation would be shown too). I'm always super happy to have anything g1 made, and I think the big head thing fits in with the rest of their line where they kind of caricature figures. I'm going to buy every one I can to support them. Plus, I just personally think they're cute.

They're weird looking, but cute in their own way. I'm honestly surprised at all the complaints, especially since it seems like those of you who love G1 have been waiting for something like this! Although, I suppose I understand if the style isn't your cup of tea. It seems like this company makes a lot of their toys in this style, though.

I think the only thing that's really off are those wings... otherwise, I'll probably pick them up when they're released.

G1 ponies done in Funko's vinyl pony style would be pretty amazing.

Maybe if these do well, other companies will catch on and perhaps ride the G1 hype train.

Ha! I knew it was a  purple Unicorn! Who IS that? Hey is that Snuzzle standing next to Buttons?

Thanks for the photos Ponycake. :)

Come to think of it, I've seen their Transformers in person at Hot Topic and GameStop and frankly, I didn't like those either.

Sundance and Mystery Purple Unicorn are growing on me though.
