Thanks! This thread is like a million years old, though. Where did it come from?

This is really interesting! I've always wondered how Tabao ponies came about and if their design was more cheaply made than normal ponies.
I have to say that to me it seems like they're pretty well made... accept for the whole neck plug thing making her neck all odd shaped.
I do like that Rarity variant though. It's funny that even just putting a different eye shape on her makes her look like a completely different pony!

Well, seeing as this thread's revived and it's sort of relevant, my Diamond Rose head numbers are PP1, PP3 (normal release but bought from taobao) and PP65 (US single) - what does the number correspond to?

Well, I do know that the number doesn't really correspond to whether it is off of Taobao or not. I have a diamond rose with PP18 and a Diamond Rose variant with PP18. Ponies from Taobao really do have "official pony" components.

The PP stands for Pinkie Pie, the type of head mold. If you look at others there are AJ, etc.

My guess is that the number is the mold number. Or maybe they stamp the numbers on them after they come out of the mold.  Anyways, they must have some significance.

It could be either I suppose?

If you look at the mane cast ones they're just stamped PP or AJ, no number (at least mine are) - so I'm curious as to why the others have so many different numbers.
