MLP Nirvana / Re: Nirvana noob question - purple-haired Peru Posey
« on: March 20, 2021, 11:27:45 AM »
Hello Ifra, very interesting pony.

I used to collect "Nirvana" ponies, but I stopped around the time Peru ponies started to appear in the collector's market, so I'm not an expert on them. However, I just wanted to comment that from your pictures you've shared the washer holding her tail together looks original. I also find interesting that, hair aside, she looks to me very similar to Spanish Posey.
Hopefully someone with more experience with Peruvian Ponies will get back to you.

PS Love your cat! (big fan of calicos ^_^)

A big thank you to Shelti for saving this and to pinkkittywinks for reposting it! Thanks a bunch!  :) My website has been down for years now so I'm glad some of the information I shared back in the old days is still available. :)

Pony Corral / World's Smallest retro MLPs - series 2?
« on: March 20, 2021, 01:53:15 AM »
Hiya! Much to my surprise (and delight!) series 1 of the World's Smallest retro My Little Ponies (tiny Minty, Butterscotch, Cotton Candy, BlueBelle, Snuzzle and Firefly as an earth pony) have finally hit the shelves in my local shop... just a couple of years after they were spotted in the US.

I was wandering... is there a Series 2 as well? I couldn't find any information. I'd love more classic ponies in this super-tiny size.

Thanks for any info!

Hiya Taffeta, thanks. :)

PKW is also awesome for pricechecking rare Nirvana, although if you have a lot to sell you might want to post them in bits xD.

What's PKW?

Hi, I used to collect MLPs, mostly G1 foreign variants and early G3s, but it's been over a decade since I last participated in the MLP community or actively collected ponies. My whole collection has been safely stored at someone else's place for a very long time. My plan is to slowly retrieve it and sell everything. I could use some help and advice from you on how to do that, since I haven't been active in a long time, and would like to ensure the deals are safe and fair for both the buyers and myself.

1) Most of the ponies I will try to sell are rare and valuable (foreign early G1s/Nirvanas). I don't currently have any recent feedback since I haven't traded or sold anything in such a long time. I still have my eBay account, but again, I've only bought, not sold (and it was non-MLP related stuff) in the past years, so it's not very useful. I'm very meticulous with descriptions and offer plenty of photos, plus I'll send by courier or registered mail. Other than that, is there anything else you'd recommend to help potential buyers feel comfortable buying from me?

2) Any tips on how to ship the ponies as safely as possible, other than wrapping them in bubblewrap and putting them in a box? Are there countries in particular where parcels are frequently damaged or opened for inspections?

3) Any advice on how to protect myself in the unfortunate case I'm faced with a dishonest buyer? I.e. if the person lies about not receiving the pony we agreed upon? Is paypal safe for sellers or will they automatically refund the buyer even if their claim is unfounded?

4) Is eBay safe for sellers?

5) Is there any interest in foreign G1s/Nirvanas (e.g. Greek, French, Peruvian, Brazilian, Italian hybrids, etc) nowadays? Has their value/prices dropped significantly? What about early G3 variants?

I'd be most grateful if you could share your advice with me or point out any concerns buyers might have. Retrieving my collection will be a lengthy and impractical process, so I only intend on going ahead only if it makes sense to try and sell it.

On a side note, to retrieve my MLParena password today I had to access an email address I no longer use (it was only for MLP stuff) and found some suspicious messages suggesting in these past years there have been a couple of hacking attempts and my email might have been used to create a Facebook account (I'm not on FB). If there has been any suspicious activity associated with my account or my MLP collection photos (they were usually watermarked), please let me know. I haven't been active for a very long time, so I hope no one tried to do any funny business using my data.

Thanks in advance!

Cool!

Thanks for the answers so far, everyone. I'm so glad there are other G3 variant lovers out there. :)

I've bookmarked this page and will update it periodically to keep you informed about when I may bring the ponies home and which ones are available. :) Please keep tuned!

I'm looking for Tink-a-tink-a-too II if you have her! (Diva pose, same as Sweetberry and Pinkie Pie II)

Hiya Stormness, I believe I have her. :) I'll make sure to bring her home in the first batch, hopefully with her accessories and backcard.

I love minty and sweetie belle variants. Hopefully I will have funds whenever you are selling :).

Hi PinkieShyPony. I don't remember which Sweetie Belle variants I have but I know I have at least two. I have *a lot* of Minty variants, because she was one of my favourite pony - I probably have them all or nearly all. She's one of those ponies I collected also "minor" variants of, such as differences in eyes or symbol size and colour :) I hope you'll be able to adopt some.

I'd certainly be interested in your Minty variants.
Awesome. I've got so many. It would be great if they could find a good loving home. :) I'll make sure to bring them in the first batch.

I'm interested in any Cheerilee variants or factory errors.
I do have a few Cheerilee variants, but I don't remember which any more, I have to check. I also collected some factor errors. I don't remember how many I have, but I know for certain there are at least 3 unfinished ponies (no eye paint, no symbol, no hair, no magnet). Possibly other oddities too, but I'll have to check :)

For Sale - For Auction / Anyone into G3 variants?
« on: February 12, 2016, 06:05:21 AM »
Hiya! Just wandering... is anyone into G3 early variants? I'm talking in particular about G3 released in 2003-4-5, such as Sparkleworks, Pinkie Pie, Rainbow Dash, Minty and so on, of which a gazillion different versions were released.

By variants, I mean ponies in different poses as well as differences in cutie mark design (big, small, reverse, etc), matte vs pearly body, tiny heart on display side (early issues) or where the magnet is, as well as smaller versions of the early ponies (McD's, tiny tins, etc).

I put together quite a rich herd of such variants in the years before I stopped collecting ponies, and now I've made up my mind about selling them if there is any interest in them - perhaps some time later this year (I have to retrieve them first).

A lot of dedication, time and effort went into putting that collection together, so before splitting it to sell the ponies individually, I was wondering if there are any people who are into G3 variants  who would like to have first dibs, especially if they might be interested in buying multiple ponies or perhaps chunks of my collection. :)

All ponies are in mint-out-box conditions (and a few are still MIB).
Pics and details will be available after I bring them home.

If anyone is interested in being kept informed about the ponies and their availability, or is looking for some ponies in particular, please drop me a message or post here. Thanks. :)

For Sale - For Auction / Argentina Butterscotch for sale
« on: February 11, 2016, 04:20:00 AM »
This lovely Butterscotch made in Argentina is looking for a new home. She's part of the batch of ponies I acquired from Argentina back in the early 2000s.

She's clean and very nice, no scratches on her eyes, no pen marks, and her hair is soft and untrimmed.
Her only flaw is some minor symbol wear and her head is slightly lighter in colour than her body.

I can provide more pics and information on request. Please don't hesitate to contact me via pm or by posting on this thread.

Shipping costs will vary depending on your location (I'm in Switzerland) and shipping option (airmail or registered).

Thanks!

MLP Nirvana / Price check - Butterscotch (Argentina)
« on: February 10, 2016, 06:29:10 AM »
Hiya! years ago I was an active collector of foreign variants... but I haven't kept track with their value. So here I am for a value check on this pony.

It's Butterscotch from Argentina. She's part of the batch of ponies I acquired from Argentina back in the early 00s.

She's clean and very nice, no scratches on her eyes, no pen marks, and her hair is soft and untrimmed.
Her only flaws are some symbol wear and her head is slightly lighter in colour than her body.

I'd like to sell her, so what would a fair price be?

Thanks in advance!

Introductions / Long time no see... Hulloa!
« on: February 10, 2016, 05:31:11 AM »
*pokes head in*

Hiya, I used to be a member here a long time ago. So many memories. And after so many years, what a surprise to see this forums is still up and active! :) Yay!

I've come back mostly to say hi everyone, as I stopped collecting MLPs many years ago, after some major changes in my life. The good news is that I still have my collection. The bad news is that I don't have it here, it's stored in boxes some 500 miles from here, and retrieving it will take time, effort and lots of patience.

Unfortunately, I'm very busy with life, so I can't promise to actively participate in the forums as I used to, but I'll be posting every now and then. I'm also considering to retrieve and put up for grabs some chunks of my collection, so keep tuned. ;)

Take care!
