Pony Corral / Pony Photography! Any Tips or Tricks?

Hi everyone! Admins, feel free to move this if it's in the wrong place, I'm not quite sure where to put it! I've seen some beautiful toy photography on here and on instagram, and I myself really enjoy taking pictures of my toys! I'm wondering if anyone has any tips or tricks for good lighting, etc, for those of us who only have access to smart phones (or any other non-professional grade medium of picture-taking)?

Here are some of my personal pictures, but sometimes I find it hard to get good lighting! I don't have a backyard, per-se (only a balcony, as I live in a condo complex), so natural lighting is kind of out of the question, and I think it can be difficult to get lots of things in one shot without it looking really busy, or "too much". I guess what I'm asking is, does anyone have any apps, display/setting ideas, or anything else that they've found effective in photographing their toys! I'd love to see some of your photography! Here is some of mine!

Pony Corral / New My Little Pony the Movie Hippogriff? Stratus Skyranger!

i was surfing eBay when i found this gorgeous hippogriff toy! his coloring is amazing, i can't wait to get my hands on him! he's from the official hasbro ebay account, so there's no doubting his authenticity. i haven't seen him on the forums yet so i thought i'd make a thread! feel free to move or merge or whatever if this has already been talked about. what do you think? i totally love him and i'm honestly shocked at how many toys they've been making for the movie!

Pony Corral / Alternative Pony Accessories! What Do You Use?

official pony accessories are so expensive (and sometimes, kind of bland)! what other 'unconventional' items do you use as hair accessories, props, etc? i use baby hairclips from the dollar store, LOL! i'd love to hear what other collectors use. i'm not crafty whatsoever, so making anything is out of the question, and i'd like to hear all of your fantastic ideas!

okay so this is my first official thread on here, so a thousand apologies if it shouldn't be posted here or kept in the movie discussion thread! feel free to move or delete at your leisure, mods. as the title promises, i'm not going to be posting ANY spoilers, and this doesn't even have anything to do with the plot of the movie! i'm wondering about these adorable my little pony concessions, and where to find them.

i've found precious little about where to actually get these, as i've seen many people saying that their theaters don't have them, despite so many of us being from all over the US! i myself live in southern california, and i can't find ANY information on these, or even anyone who knows what i'm talking about! there's a little more information on them here (specifically about their quality; good to know!), but they don't really seem to give any information on where to find them such as participating theatres, or anything! i see some people in the comments say that they're subject to the theatre choosing to order them or not, but a boy can hope, right? <3

so does anyone have any information on these? i just really really really don't want to pay inflated 'collector' prices for them!

Introductions / Hello Lovelies!

Hello there! My name is Sander and I'm relatively new to pony collecting! I'm very excited to be here! Here's some things about me:

My first childhood ponies were [g1] Lil' Pocket, and [g2] Light Heart! Unfortunately, I don't have them anymore but I am looking to purchase them again, because they're filled with so many happy memories!
Like many of you I'm sure, ponies are a massive form of comfort and interest to me!
I'm a pretty lax/casual collector; I love giving ponies spa days and I would eventually like to attempt a rehair!
My favorite ponies at the moment from each generation are Bunny Hop, Dainty Dove, Starcatcher, and Rarity! I'd say my favorite "Couple" ponies are Satin n' Lace and Tux n' Tails!
I am a bit of an anxious person, but I hope to make lots of friends on here! Please do excuse me if it takes me a while to muster up the courage to reply; I assure you I'm not giving you the cold shoulder!
I love lots of other toys, such as Lady Lovely Locks, Hasbro Surprise, Fairy Winkles, Keypers and more!

I also love Disney, makeup, (casual) gaming, fashion, yu-gi-oh!, and drinking really really cold water (I mean.... it's amazing)! I can't wait to meet and greet all of you!
