Customs / Re: Regarding Accusations About My Saran Hair
« on: September 10, 2012, 03:30:09 PM »
i know some ppl have allergies to certain plastics, so i know it's important to know the difference for selling. personally tho i have used the saran, the poly, the synthetic, and the saran thermal and they're all wonderful. I've used saran for many years as restoredoll was the only place i went to for hair til 2008. i've had their saran thermal just as long and your thermal doesn't taste any different...

er...

KALA! how dare you put that thought in my head?!

anyway since i'm not allergic to plastics i don't care if you label your hair as left over spaghetti, i'm still going to buy it. not to mention the wonderful kanekalons you have. i really do adore it's versatility and styleability

wow. just wow. these competitors are really in this! everything is amazing!

Sarah- i adore her! steampunk will always steal my heart tho. i love your description and the little story about lost treasures. i feel the same way! i think she came together really well

ambar- i have a pony like this in the works too! but... she'll never compare. she is stunning and so carefully done. her details aren't overwhelming at all and really help to make her a true piece of art!

saja- what an amazing idea! and to add the wires to make it posable is genious. i love the colors used, she makes me want to have her on display at easter! lol

gotbunny- wow! she is amazing and you've used so many recycled materials! the concept is amazing and then you pulled it off really well. i like her base, her tail, everything! there is so much going on it's hard to pick out just one thing to look at!

AK- awesome! just an amazing use of items and talent and creativity. i really like that you've taken this theme and made a character from it. and what better character? lol. well done! i love her details!

murabella- i have those scraps too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! except i embroider occasionally still. great use of a fakie! i think it's amazing and really creative!. i love her mane and tail too!

kala- sometimes simple is a good thing. she really is stunning as she is, and i applaud bringing your feelings out and "recycling" them as well. i do think there was a good chance for details missed. but in the end she still looks very much like a kala custom ^_^

tsuki- lol, i have a similar pony planned! and a great book was used here! the pencil shaving are a great and unique material for her hair! a very unique piece with a lot of effort!

Are sewn clothes ok? if it's what you're confident with. anything you feel you do best.

What kind of extra goodies would you like in your package? i dunno... i like chocolates, i like crafty stuff, i like stickers, i like broken jewelry... a million dollars would be nice...

What are your favorite poses? Any poses that you can't stand?  diva is my fave g3, my main dislike is the g3 walking pose...

Also- is anyone allergic to any certain types of doll hair?   nope

i listed my preferences in order i think. altho my top 3 are rather interchangeable.

Kinda in order or preference, but really the first 3 are interchangeable, and the last 2 are more than fine.

lol i just saw this after posting. VJ we have some things in common that i never knew!

alternative hair? i prefer nylon/saran/polypropaline/kanekalon i think thread hair could work on a frankie since she's sewn together as it is. dreads are cool but not my preference, yarn is not something i wanna see on my swap pony.

awwe everyone makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside! thank you! and yes the local rescue is so important to our community cause she does TNR on several farms too. She is also the one who helped us Christmas of 2010 when i held a raffle to get my kitty back. She got him neutered and gave him his shots that year.

Maeva loves halloween soooooo much she got dressed super early! her dress and hat are hand sewn over many hours, and her eyes repainted with acrylics and glossed with triple thick. her hair has been rerooted with 100% kanakalon from retrodollsus.com and meticulously styled with a flat iron, twists and pearl pins. She has no tail because there's just TO MUCH DRESS! counting her layers of lace she has 7 layers in her skirt! it all works together for such a pretty effect!

Here we have Frankie, ready for a night on the town! well, if this were the '50's....

Amarante means flower, or so the internet tells me. She's a pretty lil lolita styled pony looking for a new home. She features a corset detailed bodice, petticoat, double layer skirt, hand made hat, and long curls hair in 4 shades of purple nylon from dollyhair.com Every thing has been done by hand over the course of many hours.

She has some small stains on her dress, pinkish red on the non display side of the back. it's hard to see in the photos, i mention it here because i feel obligated to disclose all imperfections. she also has some facial damage from her previous life as a glitter faced g3 pony. she still displays nicely and hopefully whoever offers her a home won't mind these minor flaws.

BONUS: 50% of her sale will be donated to a local animal rescue! well local to me: http://www.colleenscrittercrusades.com/ my daughters and i spent some time with Miss Colleen and Mr. Jared on Saturday as they were set up for adoptions in a local pet shop. These animals are truly wonderful and Miss Colleen knows each one individually! We were present for one adoption and it truly touched our hearts

honestly i'm doing my best to avoid ordering DH. both retrodolls sites (UK and US) ship faster, and restoredoll. i love the colors at DH, but i can't be bothered with the headaches. and now DH doesn't take paypal, it has become very unsecure, i have no arm to twist when tina screws up. honestly with the frequency of these threads on the arena i'm surprised she has as many supporters as she does. prolly playing favorites.
