She's my first ZDF, and I LOVE her!! The default faceup is adorable too. I just had to get her optional parts because the white/pink set was too cute, but she's not the Scorpio without the scorpion resin parts. I also had to get the outfit that came out for the ZDFs around the same time she was released because it's cute. Damn all the cuteness! I have to restring her though. Seems like all of my Luts dolls are too tight so far, which includes my KDF Bory Uni-taur. :3

I also have my ZDF tan Lio Sagittarius Lio Griffin-taur set ordered with FF&D. I couldn't talk myself out of it when the price was pretty reasonable after getting his outfit, extra non-taur body, and he came with an extra head. So, it's like two dolls in one! I just had to get my first tan skin, and the gold rakes look great with it too. I can't wait to get him! I wish I could have gotten the last Lio, he was so stunning.

I have my IslandDoll Amy Special 2 in the mail on her way now, and then I have my custom Drow doll still in production, hopefully he'll be done soon. I haven't gotten any word back from the artist yet.

So, Dalila has been working very hard on my custom drow doll, and he's pretty much completed. He stands at about 17" tall, has 6mm eye size, and wig size would be 5-6" (which I'll have to make myself):

Exactly! I loooooove the Legends of Drizzt, by far my fav. I played DnD with my fiance a lot, but he was the one that turned me on to the books. I still have a lot of books to go through, I'm only on the third one, but then again, school keeps me pretty busy now. I usually try to read them when I'm at work. That sounds bad, huh? Heh. ^-^

If $499 is the usual price, which seems very low IMHO, that's a damn good price for a resin BJD with that kind of detail. Most bjd's are normally $600+ at that size. I paid a custom doll maker that makes fashion dolls like that ..about...$700 including his full armor and super dark skin. He's going to be a Drow. So, $499 really would be a fair price compared to other doll makers and companies out there. I really don't understand why these companies limit the time frame or amount of dolls they make. If they just sold them for a while longer, or brought them back, they would make so much more money off of them! There are a ton of older dolls I would dish out money to in a heart beat...if I had it that is. Lol. But, 30 dolls or 45 dolls? That's just insane!

With monster High dolls especially, there is a good chance you'll want to change the color of the skin. Lot's of people have different ways they like to achieve this, but the way I prefer is spray paint.

There are spray paints out there that specifically bond with plastics which is great for dolls where there are a lot of moving parts to help prevent scratching..

Spray with light layers and build up letting each layer dry first. Also remember the different poses you might want! Once the 1st coat dries try to change the pose and spray any new parts that are showing up in the original color till your whole doll is the color you desire.

Spray Paint Pointers:

While most spray paints will set well on the hard plastic. The soft Vinyl head can be problematic. Krylon Fusion is wonderful on the body, but will never set on the head.

For regular spray paint a generous coating of primer will help the paint cure. My favorite option is to look for vinyl spray dyes. They come in relatively limited colors, but are designed to bond with plastics hard and soft. Brands to look out for are...

Grisson/Magix (leather dye) *   SEM
Meltonian Nu-Life Color Spray   Krylon Fusion* (body only)
(* indicates paints I have tested and used I'll be adding new paints and dyes to the list as I find and try them so keep checking back!)
