Spike what are you even DOING

He's aware of his own existance, and is appropriately horrified. ^.^

(Actually, he's really cute in that super-:muffin: Pony sort of way. I'd totally cuddle him!)

It could also be a case of stolen photos.
I'm pretty active in the cosplay community, and there are always reports of Chinese sellers using a photo that isn't their own to sell things - sometimes from another shop, occasionally from a cosplayer.  Sometimes they make something that's pretty close, and other times they're way off base.

My opinion is that these sellers stole a photo of someone's custom plush, and they're listing it up as "we can make something similar to this".

I was wondering if that might be the case!! Interesting to know there's a presidence and it's happened before...

There's a pretty infamous case of this sort of "bait & switch* in the lolita fashion community.
The shop showed this and the buyer received this instead.

The Spike plush in the pictures looks fan-made.  I'm guessing whoever owns the Ebay shops wants to cash in on the pony craze...

He's kind of cute, I guess. If it's really an official Hasbro plushie and he's not too big (how big is he anyway?) I'd probably buy one if I saw it in the store. Though I'd have to do something about those fins on the side of his face. They look too much like a bone and are huge. I'd probably cut them smaller and re-sew them so they look less like bones.

Oh my gosh - I'm laughing but if at had happened to me I'd have been furious!!

I didn't think of that but there are a lot of eBay sellers who use photos from deviantart plushie artists. I feel sorry for the artist with everyone making fun of him if it is the case though - he's not that bad! Better than anything I could ever make! ^^;

So I herd you liek Mudkips?

probably from when he's wearing an apron in the show :P

Ah yes, must be from after some other fandom made me stop watching the show.

The apron fits him surprisingly well though.

It's so...so.... hmmm - I'm at a loss for words.

It almost looks like a UFO/Crane type plush. Maybe Spike mated with a Pokemon and this is their daughter (?)
