G3 Appreciation

Occasionally , like for months actually, I've forgotten about G3.

Last week at thrift I found a G3 Pinkie, 3d symbol, late release I assume.. And I'm like, sure I'll grab her.  I have about a dozen G3s, I've pared down to save space, also, sadly they're in storage.

anyway I cleaned her up, and all of a sudden I'm remembering  "Wow! g3 is awesome!!!"

Cute Poses
Great Vairety of colors
great variety of symbols.
Easy to find
Not too expensive
Fun accessories (magnet powered ones)

GOSH what's not to love!!!
Ok, there's no boys.

I love G3; they are my 2nd fave gen after G1!

Quality
Plenty of characters
Affordable
Diverseness
Make great customs too

Not a big fan of the cartoons though.

Besides no boys and not enough unicorns, I LOVE G3. The variety of poses are so fun and so many of them are just gorgeous. I have so many G3 ponies with such amazing colors and symbols... I love to look at them!

the hair holds up nicely so far
Minty (even though she is a G1 pony I really like the G3 rendition of her)
really easy to find in thrift stores
not too hard to clean up

Hasbro came out with so many. So many earth ponies too. I like them but I love the G3 pegasus, unicorns and babies the most.

In addition to all of this, I feel like G3 was the closest we ever got back to the G1 era of pony releases and variety.  Know what I mean?  (G4 hasn't even got close.)

It's just funny that I seem to forget them for a while,.. and the rediscover!  XD

As someone who is relatively new to collecting I love G3s, they are pretty easy to come across at flea markets, thrift shops, old toy stores, plus they are pretty inexpensive compared to good condition G1s. Of course, I love the different poses and bright colors of G3s, but I think the biggest draw for me is that there were many ponies made with so many different themes. I love taking pictures of G3s for my blog because there is always one for any holiday or season, I especially love Halloween and Winter ponies.

Oh yes, G3 is top-notch! The overall style of the ponies feels really upbeat and flambouyant. The large number of tropical-themed ponies is also a major plus for me. :heart:

I pretty much enjoy the general consensus of what's already been said, but want to add to it that I really like the size and proportion of them, too.  It's like Hasbro kept the chunky appeal of G1s but made them just a tad more refined.

Ah yes! Their quality is just wonderful. Hair is thick and sturdy, their body plastic isn't rock-hard like G4, the size is perfect, and their symbol/eye paint is so lovely! One of my favorite things about G3's are the subtly sparkly bodies. They are so gorgeous in sunlight!
