I finally watched the S2 final and I thought Shinning Armor reminded me a lot of G1 Majesty.

This might be a stretch, but don't you think Shining Armor resembles Majesty? Specifically, Unicorno? They're both blue-eyed white unicorns with streaked blue hair and star-related cutie marks, plus they're royalty (technically) and male (somehow).
