HA. I WISH Hasbro and other companies would be progressive enough to consider same gender relationships....

Although, as been said, it doesn't seem like lovey-dovey couples is really a theme one would associate with FiM...

Then again, if the toy line theme this year is weddings, who knows? Maybe more couples will be popping up on the show.

well the "somepony" that put that up on Youtube. Thank you. My first time watching FiM and it was cute. Now I'm kinda excited I won that school set for my daughter. She already has Applejack and now the little sister is on her way.

I never thought of Cheerilee as that old! I always thought she was the young, hip teacher. I mean, she was only a filly in the 80's.

Um... exactly. That was 30 years ago, making her at least 40 (late 30's at the absolute youngest). Big Mac couldn't possibly be out of his early 20's, if that.

Uh, will2bfree, someone who's 40 today would have been born in 1972, meaning they'd be 18 in 1990 (when styles like the crimped hair and leg warmers still existed...the crimped hair G1s came out in the early 90s actually), and since Cheerilee looks like she had braces in that picture, I'd say she was a lot younger than 18. Also, this all assumes FiM follows the same timeline as the real world.

Actually, when I was in elementary school, my siblings were all in their early to late 20's. :p  Of course, this is ponies we're talking about. So it'd be possible for Applebloom to have an older brother in his late 20's, an older sister in her early 20's (that's how I see Applejack anyway). Her parents would have had her later, human equivalent of late 30's, but had Big Mac in their late teens to very early 20's. I imagine Cheerilee being in her early to mid 30's.

They do look cute together though! I kind of like it better than FlutterMac.

Well, I don't ship characters anyway.  I prefer to let the show play matchmaker    I think they could be cute together!

Also, If Cheerilee was a filly in the 80's, that makes her only a little older than me.  So late 20's.  Applejack is clearly an adult and Big Mac is her older brother.  I always picture Big Mac as late-20's to early-30's, so it works for me.

I dont understand the "shipping" concept [but thats just my personal opinion] but as this has been done in the context of a Valentines Day episode I actually quite enjoyed it in its own lovely dovy, overly sickly way!


Or it may just have been the CMC that won me over...I love Apple Bloom!

This episode was AMAZING! It was almost like a parody of the4 fic Shippers! (Of which I am one, ironically enough). And the CMCs were amazing here! ^^

Actually, somewhat same here...or, at least, I don't think the FiM timeline necessarily corresponds to reality. I do think the main characters are the equivalent of young adults...18- early 20s-ish, but that's about as specific as I actually get.

Mainly I was reacting to the implication that people who were young in the 80s are old!
