The new plush haven't shown up on US Amazon yet. I gotta get AJ.

Funny thing is, they did. I have them on my Amazon wishlist- they were up for preorder for a few hours, then temporarily unavailable for several weeks, and now the link is gone entirely unless you had it saved. I'm a bit worried about what that means for US distribution :(

Pony Corral / Re: Brand/stores for mystery giant mass produced g4 plushies?

No clue about brand, but I remember Toy Kingdom a few years ago had some giant plush of Twilight Sparkle, Pinkie Pie, and Rainbow Dash in the Playskool/CMC style. I managed to buy all three, and they were officially licensed Hasbro baby, but only for sale in the Philippines.

My guess for this would be something similar. Late-stage Hasbro merch that no retailers in "traditional" (US and UK-based markets) wanted to purchase, so they were sent to the Philippines. Your best bet would be to look at secondhand sites like Lazada and Shopee, and see about a parcel forwarding service to send to the US.

If they did more mini animation packs, who'd you want to see?

A Tales Pack
Starlight
Sweetheart
Melody
Bright Eyes
Patch
Clover
Bon-Bon
Teddy
Lancer

I didn't even realize until now, but there is almost NOTHING I want more than for Basic Fun to re-release the Tales ponies. They never even came out in the US, where the show aired!!

Pony Corral / Re: what is this 40th Anniversary item??? need more info!

Yes, comics! IDW currently publishes the MLP comics, and they made a throwback 40th anniversary edition.

This was the blurb: "Forty years ago, Butterscotch, Blue Belle, Minty, Snuzzle, Cotton Candy, and Blossom cantered onto shelves and into the hearts of children everywhere. Now, join IDW as we celebrate decades of ponies, toys, and friendship!First, from Sam Maggs and Keisha Okafor, travel back to the ’80s in a story about four young girls, their My Little Pony toys, and the power of friendship and imagination as they try to save their horse barn from closing. Then, a story from Jeremy Whitley and Amy Mebberson, where Sunny Starscout and her pals learn more about Equestrian history and a place called Dream Valley. And finally, from Tony Fleecs and Brianna Garcia, in 2023, an aunt and her My Little Pony-loving niece have to rely on some dusty G1 toys for entertainment when the power goes out."

The original issue released back in July, and then the deluxe edition is probably a hardcover version with some extra content.

Hi all! Trying to unload some of my extra international exclusive merch. I do sell primarily on Mercari if you'd like to check my feedback there- https://www.mercari.com/u/652677995/ Thought my pony items might do better in this forum.

I'm open to offers on these items since most of them I cannot find recent, or even consistent, sold listings for them.

Euro exclusive Pink Petals and Orange Flowers breezie. No carts. Their hair is a little dry, but I haven't tried to condition or tame it. All of their paint is perfect with no rubs, and the wings are unfrayed along the edges. Pink Petals has a slight yellow stain along her upper lip- I tried to capture that in the second photo.

Japanese exclusive plush keychains, Fluttershy, Minty, and Sunny Daze. They're about 3 inches tall with ball keychains, and the short fluffy hair. All are clean and in great condition- no stains, mats, or chipping/fraying on the ironed on cutie marks.

Japanese exclusive Rainbow Dash purse from their collaboration with Jennie Love. Still in the original bag with foam covering her wings, I've never taken her out of the package. No tags.

China exclusive Pinkie Pie plush in the Cutie Mark Crew style. I actually have two of these- each one of them comes with a slightly damaged box, but the plush is brand new. I have bought five of these blind boxes and every single one of them has been Pinkie Pie. Either the gacha gods are playing a cruel joke on me or the other advertised designs are fake.

Feel free to message with any additional questions or requests for photos!

I'll have to swing by my local Target at some point this week to check for them!

They’re available on the website now! I ordered a set today for in store pickup.

Pony Corral / Basic Fun Factory Seconds
« on: July 30, 2023, 07:51:39 PM »
I haven't seen any recent threads on these, so I wanted to get the community's opinion on these!

Extra Basic Fun ponies have been available on Taobao for a while- they're almost entirely the scented Rainbow ponies. I wonder if this indicates that they made an entire run before they realized how the scent affected the plastic of the ponies and public opinion before they completely scrapped them and remade scentless versions. Now all the overstock is being sold by independent sellers.

About two months ago I found this listing on Taobao- they're factory second ponies that have been kitbashed from extra parts.

Link if anyone is curious

I was among one of the first orders on this particular listing, and I ordered 5 to start. They were about $0.75 a piece individually, sold random, with a minimum order of 5pcs.

From my proxy photos the Starshine/Surprise combo looks the best, but I’m also surprised by the Sparkler/Moonstone. It also looks like Sparkler’s head is only half-rooted, which ties nicely into the little oddity factor of these. (Outside Blossom, of course, she just looks new from the factory.)

After this I ordered a few more batches trying to get the Tickle/Blossom shown in the original listing photo. All in all I ended up with 20 total from this listing.

My conspiracy theory was that the Tickle/Blossom combo never existed outside of that photo- by this point, about a month after I first found these, other listings had started to crop up, she was the only one not featured in any. Most of the listings had gone up in price, and averaged about $1.15 per pony, and usually with a minimum order of 5.

I also managed to confirm all the other combos with my orders:
- Moonstone/Sparkler x4 (two with both purple and red hair stripes, two with only a partially rooted head with the red stripe)
- Butterscotch/Skydancer x3
- Stranger Things Applejack/Bluebelle x2
- Confetti/Starshine x3
- Surprise/Starshine x3
- Glory/Starshine x2
- Parasol x1
- Blossom x2

THAT IS, until I found this listing just yesterday:

Yup, that's the seller holding Tickle/Blossom, only the second example I've ever found. And not only that, but my proxy has a new feature where at the bottom of the listing it will show actual photos of the product the last customer who bought from the listing received.

IT'S HER

I put in a purchase order as this listing is one of the only that allows you to buy individually, and with all fees and such she came out to around $5.15 total.  I put in the notes for my proxy to request the purple rainbow one, and they haven’t said that the listing is random. I wait with bated breath.

Anyways, while I wait I wanted to show these to the community and get opinions. How do these fit in? Judging by how the hair has plastic ties in it, these seem to either be extra parts or ones stolen off the line and jumbled together. There are complete Blossoms, Bluebells, and Parasols, but no Starshine heads, Sparkler bodies, etc. Why is Sparkler the only one that is available partially rooted?

The listings have over 300 total sales cumulatively, and taking into account most have a minimum purchase limit, there's over 1000 of these out there (assuming 8-9 different styles too.) Why are there so many extra parts? Did Basic Fun assume these would be more popular than they were, or didn't expect Target to not renew their contract to carry them?

How do these fit in with factory samples or seconds? I personally doubt these will hold any value since in theory anyone could have put these together and there’s no proof they’re from the factory. I'm purchasing them mostly out of personal curiosity, and because it was fun to find these. They'll look nice with all my official boxed versions.

I'd love to hear anyone's thoughts, or even hear which mashup is your favorite! I think it would just be fun to come up with names for these.

Introductions / Hi hi!
« on: July 29, 2023, 10:32:53 PM »
I remember lurking around on the forums when I was 10 but I never made an account- now I have a Tumblr blog dedicated to my toy collection and I really wanted to get more into the community itself! I've been collecting seriously for over a decade and I've finally found the confidence to open up to more people about my interests. My Little Pony is my main interest, although I do also have a fondness for Care Bears, Barbie, Littlest Pet Shop, and other 1980s/2000s nostalgia.

One of my main interests lately have been in trying to find My Little Pony merch from overseas! I have some My Little Pony Playskool plush that only seem to have been released in the Phillipines, and several My Little Pony Japanese G3-era plush from Nakajima Corporation. I haven't seen a lot of talk about these online and I'd love to share it with others, or even find new merch I haven't seen before!

Glad to be here!
