Pony Corral / Re: Roku Streaming has ALL MLP Cartoons

:O Awesome!

I'm assuming they have the TV edits of RaMC and Catrina?

Escape From Midnight Castle is tv edited removing the Moonchick's song cause of copyright control due to that actor's estate following his final wishes.
Escape From Catrina, I don't think is tv edited. It's been so long since I saw it until tonight.
End of Flutter Valley, haven't watched it again yet to see if it was edited.

Copyright control?  First time I've heard that one. I thought we agreed that + Catrina/Rep's song were cut for time reasons...

AFAIK there isn't an edited version of Flutter Valley, since it was made for TV to begin with.

Tony Randell had said, and I read this years ago in the late 90s, that he hated the song in Escape From Midnight Castle. It was uppity over it, so it put it into part of his last wishes to have it removed from the cut. Its a shame really. The song was wonderful. Maybe Roku could get it set up to a full connected episode like it was meant to be. But the series is all on BlueRay now, but lets hope EFMC Moonchik song isn't cut from those files.

On Roku streaming system they have for FREE all original #MyLittlePony cartoons seasons 1- 2 of 1984-'present' (labeled as 2017 for season 2, don't understand why) including #MyLittlePonyTales all 13 episodes. Along with Escape From Midnight Castle, Escape From Catrina, and The End of Flutter Valley, which are broken up into separte episodes. You can buy Roku at Best Buy. A Merry Christmas to us all!

I'm currently starting my binge with the very first movie of course, Escape From Midnight Castle. It's tradition with all of us, I bet.
I've also found Care Bears original cartoons, but still no Lady Lovely Locks and the Pixietails….Ooo I better go hunt down Jem, too.

Pony Corral / Toys R' Us Returning this Holiday Season...
« on: June 21, 2019, 06:12:30 PM »
I heard about this on Kiro7News here in Washington state. It's all over the internet with many other sites talking about the big news for the last five hours or more.
Could this possibly mean that MLP will return to sacred grounds of our beloved toy stores?
We'll only find out when we go hunting this holiday.

Article cut/pasted below:

The Toys "R" Us brand will continue, as the retail chain that was once the largest toy store in the U.S. will return in time for Christmas 2019 with fewer than ten stores, each of which will be about a third of the size of a traditional Toys "R" Us big-box store. That's according to Bloomberg, whose sources say TRU Kids (the company built out of the remnants of Toys "R" Us) have finally figured out their plan moving forward after months of suggesting that there was life after toy-store death.

Apparently, the plan is for the stores to be about 10,000 square feet, with additional "experiences" like play areas to make them more of a destination. This makes sense in a market saturated with play places that sell toys and t-shirts out of their food carts, but is a different look than Toys "R" Us customers are used to. In the Bloomberg report, TRU spokesperson said that the company was not ready to share details on its relaunch strategy, but perhaps tellingly there is no indication that she actually denied the report.

TRU would also be operating an online storefront at ToysRUs.com in order to generate additional revenue, and mitigating costs by taking product on consignment from producers, and paying only when the goods have left the store. This has its own risks, especially in higher-theft areas where Toys "R" Us would be on the hook for merchandise that was never properly accounted for.

While the market certainly suffered from the loss of Toys "R" Us, toymakers and other retailers have figured out ways to soldier on without the retailer. That means TRU Kids will have to rebuild some relationships and build some new ones. According to Bloomberg, The Toys "R" US CEO has said that MGA Entertainment, who make things like Little Tikes, Bratz, and L.O.L. Surprise!, are already on board.

“This market needs a self-standing toy store, that’s for sure,” CEO Isaac Larian said. “We will sell them inventory.”

The previous Toys "R" Us stores were closed down after it became obvious that there was no clean path to getting out of financial trouble for ownership. They explored the idea of licensing Toys "R" Us but ultimately landed on a relaunch in the hopes that they can make more than licensing to a competitor would.

Hoping for nice wings.

Will Honeysuckle have the Fading Pink or a more sun-resistant shade like Tea Leaf's?

Does anyone who has Snuzzle and Cotton Candy know? I mean I had Snuzzle in my hands briefly for someone else, but I wasn't gonna stick her in sunlight to find out if it faded.

Which pony was named Tea Leaf? Was she a G1?

Tactic to get more Wave 4 Ponies at  YOUR Target store - Talked to the toy section employee at my location (Smoky Point, WA) he said, "There are a lot more boxes in the back. The only way to get the next sets to come to the store is if everyone bought these," he brought out a long stack of Wave 1 Original Six ponies and laid them out on an empty product counter.

Then I told him this, "Collectors will rescue damaged or slightly overly played ponies and make them into customs. This way the mint to near mint condition ponies that are left, their value in price goes up over time. Same can happen for the retro remakes of Wave 1. If everyone buys them of the overstock and make customs, the Wave 4 will come in quicker."

We all have an assignment. Go out there, if you can financially, and buy two of each Mane Six Retro Wave 1 ponies. Let's bring Wave 4 into the stores!

If Flutter Ponies come back, that means I'll have Honeysuckle in my hands again. Having lost all my ponies due to the move leaving them behind, getting these recreations that are near spot on nearly makes me cry. It's so good to be alive and adult in this time right now.
