yes it opens and i think it had lip gloss inside at one time.

I think I've seen it before, but I can't put my finger on it. It looks like Barbie, to be sure.

Edit: it didn't have lipgloss but a solid fragrance I think.

Perfume Pretty Whitney is on my wishlist and seeing the locket and the suggestion of Barbie sparked a memory and a quick google search confirmed it.

Yep I can confirm it's from Perfume Pretty Whitney. I have her in my box of child hood barbies, she and Dream Glow Barbie were my top favorite dolls. It was a fragrance in the locket, it was a white hard cream sort of stuff like lipstick, went on your skin clear.
