To be honest, I don't get the name Pinkie Pie. Yes, I get that she's pink, but its still completely unrelated to her cutie mark or talent.

I love her anyway, but it always seems strange to me that she's named just for being pink...when, y'know, there isn't exactly a shortage of pink ponies...

Tootie Tails- I won't even use this name. The whole word "tootie" just makes me want to throw up.

G1 baby Ribbs is one of my favorite ponies because of his awesome dragon symbol, but what is up with the name Ribbs? I used to joke that maybe the dragon would barbecue him and then have some barbecue Ribbs.

Baby Ribbs....that's another one that makes no sense to me! I think of ribs on a grill when I think of his name. What's with the dragon?

Sprinkles! I guess her name was supposed to go with the whole water theme, but why then is her symbols a bunch of ducks? Because they swim? "Sprinkles" makes me think of rain (so I used to confuse her name with Lemon Drop) or candy/ice cream.

Same with Majesty...I mean, what is her symbol? They couldn't come up with something more...I don't know, royal?

I've always thought Majesty's symbol was the fleur de lys, which is (was) the French royal symbol. 

The NBT names drive me nuts, though - they are so often nothing like their symbols and I can never remember them.  Rattles and Tattles have the bunnies?  Doodles and Noodles have the ABC symbols?  Ugh.  I them but I kinda hate some of their names.

Her cutie mark slightly confounds me .3. It's a purple/magenta shake with a cherry on top, two straws, and two hearts bordering it.

I mean I guess the shake could be plum flavored? xD

I'm also hopping on the bandwagon in that I didn't get Ribbs's name either. He's still one of my favorites though, he's got a rockin' symbol. x)
