Title: Sunfading Sparkle Ponies?
Post by: tailrustedtealeaf on January 04, 2019, 04:57:17 PM
Hi all!
I recently got a sparkle Baby Gusty who has a pen? marker? mark on the tip of her snout. Here's a screenshot from my Instagram story:

Is it safe to sunfade her, or does the translucent plastic react poorly to the sun? I'd imagine there'd be some dramatic change, but I find myself distracted by that mark and I really want it to go. If it were anywhere else I wouldn't be as bothered.
If anyone has sunfaded these girls, I'd love to hear what you did, even if it ended up poorly.  ^.^

small risk of sunburn but it's probably worth the risk :)

I sunfaded a skyrocket with success. Would recommend covering what does not need to be faded and check/rotate often.

I'd recommend using either water or just sunlight instead of peroxide because I've seen trouble with sparkle ponies and peroxide xoxo

Sounds like she'll get taped all over then once spring rolls around!

I wasn't planning on peroxide! Just a little spell in the sun.  :) Doesn't peroxide not remove ink anyway?

I usually sun fade in peroxide! It does a really good job at speeding up the process and getting better results. I've never had a problem with it removing factory paint :) Water also works well to up results!

But if you ever end up using peroxide you want to condition the pony's hair right after you take her out! It'll dry out the ends otherwise
