Title: New Collector says hello
Post by: Ghoulmouse on September 27, 2018, 02:51:55 PM: Hey! I'm Ghoulmouse, you can call me Tilly or Mouse or whatever you like, really. I currently live in the midwestern US, and I work as a freelance editor (right now most of my work is doing localization for manga, actually).

My parents recently moved house and unearthed my childhood G1 pony collection. I really loved MLP growing up -- they were especially special to me because I was a tomboy who thought it was embarrassing to be into girly stuff, so they were the only sparkly cute things I "allowed" myself to like. I was amazed that my parents kept all of them and once I started reading about how to clean up and fix some of the ones that were in worse shape (one of my So-Soft ponies literally got run over by a car! She's still kicking, though, somehow), I got interested in collecting and making customs. So, here I am.

I haven't inventoried my collection or anything, but it's all G1. I have a few G4 ponies but I'm mostly interested in G1 at the moment. I am, however, totally ignorant of G2-G3, so I might look into them a little more at some point.

My favorite ponies are Twilight, Glory, and Gusty (obviously I like unicorns a lot).

As you can tell by my username, I love Halloween and all things spooky...but I think everyone needs a little glitter and pink in their life sometimes. Plus, I've always loved collecting and preserving/restoring objects...especially stuff that other people tend to write off, like plastic ponies :)

I find that G1 and G3 tend to be the most similar of the gens, so maybe you'll find some favorites in there. There's some halloween G3s that you might love!

I can totally relate to you with the tomboy thing, I just couldn't resist them haha.
You should look into the G2 and G3, they are just so cute and lovely and who knows, you might find one you absolutely adore.
