Rarest or least common Sea Pony?

Like the title says. Who is the monst uncommon or rare Sea Pony incluiding floater or shell?

I really don't know anything about Sea Ponies, nor their names. I do want to collect them but they always seem so expensive.

Are the shells hard to come by? And what is the rarest shell?

Wave 2 is always more expensive.  Shells can run $80-200.  Whitecap +shell are the top sellers.

Ouch! That's a pain! But I really want one in the future, just one! They always look so cool in people's collection. So big and shiny with that shell!

Especially true of the second editions- the ponies are so much easier to find then shells. and, the ponies (especially starting in a little shabbier shape) get missed all the time. bid low on enough auctions and eventually you will win a hidden gem for a fraction of the collector rate!.

there's one seller who makes replacement shells for them. Starlight studio I think? I don't own any of them.... yet. they do look very well made and a fraction of the real deals. eventually I might spluge on some myself to outfit the rest of my 2nd edition army.

I don't see the Sparkle Baby Sea Ponies come up often, or White Cap and Sea Mist.

For the babies it's the sea sparkle set and some of the pearly  re releases.

For me these were/are the hardest for each baby set:
Orginal: splasher
Pearly (excludes UK exclusives): tiny bubbles or sea star
Watercolor: misty
Sea sparkle: wavy

100% agree with above comments about adult second set. They look awesome on display though, so you can showcase your investment.

Out of the second sets of adults I see far less wave jumpers than any others!

For me I've seen the most white caps and sea mists but maybe that's because they're more Distinguishable. I think wave jumper and high tide I see the least. Oh, and also the Italians. For baby sea ponies it's the sparkle ones with the neck designs I rarely see.

If you are looking to add them to your collection, you dont have to start with the rarest or the least common.

The first adult set of sea ponies, are much easier to find. The shells are still expensive but you could be more like $30 for the pony + shell rather than $200 if you start with the first set.

The second set of adult ponies are a little odd. The 3 ponies that came with conch shells in the second set are the more popular but the clam shells that the other 3 girls came with are harder to find I think. Its a little mix and match in rarity.

The first set of adults is so underrated in my opinion. I felt as though I got a steal when I was new and bought all mine. and a steal again when I got them MIB. They are just beautiful set up together with their stuff. actually, all the 83'/year line. I love the colour palette for that entire year! it was very thoughtfully done so all the ponies and accessories really go together.
