Has anyone seen this blind bag variant?
« on: October 15, 2013, 02:40:20 PM »
I got this girl off Ebay from a Chinese seller, and the picture was of the normal version. However, when I opened up the package...

(Apologies for the crappy photo--it's nighttime and the lighting in here sucks. The orange is way more vivid than that, I'll get better pics in the morning.)

I was so excited! :D I don't think I've ever seen this kind of paint mismatch before. Have you seen her anywhere? I love these kinds of happy surprises!

Edit: Comparison with proper figure:

Instead of matching the yellow in her hair, her shoes, necklace, and crown are this vivid orange. It might have come from Golden Harvest's hair, at a guess?

I had to zip across to Strawberry Reef and compare your picture to get a clear idea of what the change is. It looks like the crown, chestpiece and shoes should match the yellow stripes in her hair, but are a peachy-orange on yours. Congratulations! Little variations like that are so interesting to look at. I've only seen these transparent Cadence figures on ebay and all of the listings that I've seen have yellow jewellery matching the hair.

Edited with a daytime pic! That orange is harder than I thought for my phone camera to pick up, but the comparison is there.

Ooh, interesting! I wonder if they ran out of the regular yellow paint and had to use the orange color until help arrived. ;)

Cute :) I will be honest and say I properly had to squint and adjust the computer monitor a few times in order to see the difference :P

It just looks like a batch difference to me - over time when you are producing this kind of quantity a little difference in colour of paint is inevitable. Congratulations on adding her to your collection :)

Some colors are harder for companies to match consistently so you will get differences in paint along the way.  Makes it interesting to collect and make army's out of.
