No idea, but what I do know is when I sold my set of international G3 MCDs, I kept on getting so many PMs about them!

Strand if you are looking for some, I will cut you a deal and do the best I can on shipping, just shoot me a PM. I'm missing one from the '05 set, and maybe 3 from the '08 set, and a few from the G3.5 set. I also have a full set of 2012 MIP G4s... :) Just keep me in mind!

I think it depends who you're talking too. Some people want them and some don't. I have a bunch of older wants on a trade/sales list that I was hoping to just swap out with a bunch of others. However I have been on the hunt for a few 2012 MIB ones myself. lol
Applejack, Fluttershy, Lily Blossom, Pinkie Pie and Rarity. I was hoping to have a complete set at some point.

So, were the US Prize ponies also released at McDonalds in Europe?
Not that I know of, we got different versions.

We did not actually get any G4 McDs toys at all. Sorry I cant get used to calling them prize ponies :P

The G4 ones will be about $2 - you will usually find people willing to give them a home just dont expect a super quick sell. The Quick and Burger King ones run much higher of course.

Anything G4 does seem to have a market at the moment including these toys.

As for G3/3.5, can I assume we are talking about the US releases of the "prize" ponies? If so then unfortunately I dont think there is a market - offering them FOC just shipping to a new home is probably the easiest way to move them on.

I just keep thinking, one day, these prize ponies will be 20 years old, and perhaps have the same market that the old McD's bookmarks do... lol

It always seems the ones people don't like initially always have some following later on, when G2s were on the market - many people disliked them, but now I know there's a larger faction who really adores G2s. I can't help but think one day it should be like that for G3s, haha :)

Edit: Would help if I finished typing before pressing post :P

Lol - I would like to think that as well.

The problem with just about anything G3 is that the collecting community as a reasonably large online entity has been in force since G3 hit shelves [and prior to that of course although in smaller numbers]. Large numbers of just about anything G3 exist in collector hands. Some ponies turn up MIB more than the do loose for this reason. And therefore if you wanted G3 McDs ponies then you could normally pick them up in person or via fellow collectors when they were in store. I think this is the only thing which lessens demand for these items.

However, as I stare at the buckets of G3s I have...I continue to hope for a come back or massive increase in value in the future. :P A girl can dream right?

I've actually seen some pretty nice customs made out of McDonald's ponies.

But yeah, they are kind of plague like. I once went to a yard sale where they had a huge Ponyville playset for sale but the ponies that were included with the set were just McDonald's ponies... and they were asking like $20 or $30 for the set! I pointed out to the mother who was selling it that these were not the correct ponies for the set, but she wouldn't believe me.

Prize ponies = ponies you get as prizes in fast food meals...

Can't call them all "Happy Meal Toys", heh... since other countries prize ponies aren't always from McD's... so I'm in the habit of calling them Prize Ponies now. :)

I customize them with their plastic tails, lol... but they're super cute as full brushables. Do you use a dremel?

I customize them~ but I go the opposite direction of most people and just sculpt there tails or hair XD I'm especially loving doing the G4 ones right now as they have such nice poses. However I normally find more then enough of these thrifting so I never search for them online.
