I like them too!  At least back then Hasbro made different ponies, not just the same mold with different colors!

So true!  I miss all the different styles: Twinkle Eyed, So Soft, boys, pearly, sea ponies, glow in the dark, Twice as Fancy.... and on and on and on!!

Say "hi" to Chris Pine's (rebooted Cpt Kirk in ST 11 and 12) eyebrows. Seriously he has big caterpillar fuzzy ones.
Not knocking him or these MLP's, I adore both.

But that was the first thing that came to mind while reading the posts. The one I had as a kid got a trim because the eyelashes got insane frizzy.

A Royal Picnic For Ponyland
One warm summer's day, Princess pony decided to use her special powers to make a picnic all the ponies could enjoy! With a whisk of her glittery tail, she turned the clouds into cotton candy, dripping tasty drops of lemon-flavored rain. Swishing her dazzling cape, she changed the leaves on the trees into raisin-covered cookies. Then, for a crowning touch, Princess pony blinked her beautiful eyelashes and Ponyland pond became a giant bowl of strawberry punch." Let the royal picnic begin", said the pretty Princess with a delighted smile as her thrilled pony friends began to devour the magical, mouth watering feast.

Did anyone else's brain go to the gutter on the lemon flavored rain?

That said, I like the eyelashes.  ^^  I have some Japanese dolls with rooted eyelashes, so they remind me of them.  :P

This is one of those things that I like the concept... but not the execution. Could have been awesome, but the juuuuuust missed it.

Remember to keep the thread on topic- about ponies, please. ;)

They look great without eyelashes (above)

I looked but can't find the customs where someone replaced/re-rooted the eyelashes- they looked fabulous!

More often- the princesses look like this (random pic from ebay):

Seriously gave me the chills!  A patch of wiry black fur does not look like eyelashes- it looks like something...else...

She reminds me of that crazy aunt everyone has. You know the one. Her house smells like terrible perfume, her clothing is frightening, and she makes some soup from the old country whose ingredients are a mystery and quite frankly, you don't want to know.

And you love her to death because she's got character.

Dangit I just sold myself on this pony.

Heh, that's my girl you posted! I find it sort of ironic that you used her photo...her eyelashes are trimmed! =P Though not be me.

I have always liked them, eyelashes and all! I think they are quite regal and pretty. I never thought about giving them names (makes me wonder what I called the pink one when I was little - she was a favorite of mine). Weirdly I think I'm okay with them being called Royal Pink and Royal Purple, though I would have preferred more creative names.
