I'm a bit on the fence over these ponies too. I get that they're supposed to be glamorous, but when the lashes get unruly...
I think I'm just glad they didn't try to give them big red glamorous lips too...

I wouldn't mind owning one, I'd trim the lashes though.

I found one at a fleamarket who was 'treated' that way, luckily I could get the big red blotches off a bit.
I refer to them as Bert and Ernie
Selling some ponies to pay for the vet bills of abandoned rabbits I adopted!

I got the purple one dirt cheap (ie, spare change cheap) from a seller who hated the eyelashes so bad!  I think she looks weird, but I kind of get a kick out of her lashapillars.  :D

They look so weird with those thick eyelashes, though I do think that the idea is pretty cool. A lot of dolls from the 1960s had rooted eyelashes and I think that they are really cute and pretty that way. My mom gave me some of her old toys and I always really liked how they were done. Of course, these eyelashes were done in MODERATION and that's why they look good. I think it's the thickness that really makes them look weird and takes away from the overall look. Because really, these ponies otherwise look fine. I love the lavender Cinderella carriage one.

Oh, and just because I always post this on on the princess threads...

I remember seeing them when I was a kid and was not sure what to think of them. They were not my first choice either.  I have to laugh at that one that looks like horrible eye brows :)

A girl just started at my work, who everyone has admitted was employed because she's something nice to look at, and she wears massive thick false eyelashes every day. This was the first thing I thought of when I saw her and I had to google it and show all the lads in the office. They laughed.

I don't care for this pose. This pose bothers me more than the lashes as I grew up in a time where everything had heavy eyelashes like that.  So, I won't be buying either one of these at all.

Goodness to me I feel sad by your post,  I mean she might actually be a nice person.   We are not all the same in what we think is beautiful, but the heart of a person is what matters most.  Its sad to know she was made fun of in that way. :(

What you're saying makes perfect sense, tulagirl.  I think it can be hard for some women if they feel like those who are outwardly beautiful get more privileges.  Granted, you can be someone who is hired for your intelligence, experience, etc. and just HAPPEN to be drop-dead gorgeous as well.  What it really boils down to is what you said: it's the heart of a person that matters the most.  ^.^

This story made me sad.  I cannot imagine that as my first-day work environment.  :/. Being beautiful or wearing makeup are terrible reasons to be made fun of or treated badly.

I like them too!  At least back then Hasbro made different ponies, not just the same mold with different colors!
