Sell or Keep?

I don't generally like to keep duplicates, but I have two Dancing Butterflies that I'm not sure what to do with. One is nearly flawless, just some eye-rubs that I touched up, and her hair has lost most of it's curl but is still silky. The other is pretty sad, with dry hair that has a few cut plugs and marker that still is somewhat visible after over a year of sunfading...but she has a cool factory error that makes her look like she has two tails.

I want to keep that second one, but I don't know what to do with the first. I was going to sell her, but her condition is so gorgeous, plus I know she's so common that's she doesn't sell for much, so I'm not sure if it would even be worth selling. What would you do?

Whoa! Describe the factory error, I'm very curious about that. Is it an incomplete tailhole that splits the hair up, or is it actually two tail holes? You've got me curious, and I definitely understand your dilemma! Quirky factory errors are great, in my opinion!

I would sell. Someone else could love her!

I would sell.  She might be common but she's popular enough to fetch a pretty decent price, provided you describe her well and post nice pics.  List her for the price you want to sell her at and that way you won't sell her too low.

It's one tail split between two holes that developed a crack between them (otherwise all the hair would be in just one hole):

I'm thinking I'd be happy to see the better one go to someone who'd be happy to have her, but with the last PC I did, she seemed to be going for $5? Does that sound right? I have no idea.

You *must* keep the factory error! That is uber cool and many of us collectors have never had one in our collection. So despite her condition, she's a trophy! Congrats! And as was mentioned, DB is easy to find in nice condition if you ever do change your mind it won't be hard to find one.

I'd keep both, but that's because I always want one mint-ish pony to keep for display. However if you don't really care that much about having one that is display perfect, then I'd sell the first one

Definitely keep the factory error, that's so cool! And if you sell the first, depending on her shape she could probably go for around $10. I got my first Dancing Butterflies in a swap so I'm not entirely sure on her price, but I see most TAF ponies for like $8-$16 (excluding rarer ones of course). Best of luck!

Well, I really couldn't sell the factory error one even if I didn't want it...it came from a friend's childhood herd, but surprisingly, she never noticed the defect!

I should probably look on eBay to see how good condition DB has been selling recently.

That double tail is hilarious!
I'd personally keep both because there's no harm in a few beautiful duplicates, but you could always trade one instead of selling. That way there isn't a definite price and it's more that she goes to someone who really wants her and you get get a pony in return, maybe even one you didn't know you wanted until you get her. *shrug*

I would keep both - the factory error because its very cool and the other one because she is gorgeous by the sounds of it. There is no harm in the odd duplicate especially when there is such a great difference.

She is very common but in lovely condition with her hair curled to perfection DB can easily sit around the $8-10 - she can go surprisingly high sometimes as well as although common she is super popular.

That tail is COOOL!!! You might want to trade her if there is another pony you are looking for.
