Pindot Mold
« on: May 25, 2012, 07:27:55 AM »
I'm going through my collection and restoring it and I've noticed a lot of ponies have pindot. I know it's fairly easy to get rid of but still it's really annoying to discover it all over some of my ponies :( Yuck! I have no idea how it even got on them..

I have a FF Blossom that's covered head to hoof in pindot. I've scrubbed and scrubbed and scraped on her for the past several days & only got rid of a little bit. I'm using hot water & antibacterial soap, is there an easier way?

They got it from being 30 years old!  :D

I've heard if you use a very small barbeque grill brush or steel wool, it can help get the pindot out but you can scratch the vinyl so you have to be very careful.   I personally would stick with the HOT HOT water and fingernail method, even if it takes weeks.  :D

I have used dishwashing liquid (antibacterial) and steel wool!

  Best of luck to you!

I usually boil some water, add some bleach, and let the ponies soak for an hour or two. With a little scrubbing with a toothbrush it comes right out. I've never had a pony covered in it though. It's usually just in a few spots.

I might try the boiling water/ bleach method on poor Blossom.
