Title: It's almost Toy Fair time!

It's almost Toy Fair season again. The N.Y. Toy Fair is on Feb 17th this year but the UK and Nuremburg Toy Fairs come before that and once in a while will yield leaks. Google says the UK one is Jan 23rd this year and Nuremburg is the 31st.

What are you hoping to see?

Always an exciting time!
I guess, realistically I'm hoping to see:

More GOH: I don't like the new heads, so I went to GOH only collecting because at least those look like the show.
Ideally: GOH Celestia AND Luna action figures! And a Big Mac! And probably Starlight Glimmer too.

Something exciting from Monster High. (My penpal gets these, I like looking at them)

Unrealistic: G5 stuff, Bridge Direct showing anything at all, a Luna statue, plushes that actually look good or look like the fanmade ones I see around here because those are always so much better than license ones, somebody else doing something (RIGHT-looking at you fizzy phone case...rrrrr) with G1

Ooooh, the 23rd is my birthday.  Maybe I'll get some leaks for my birthday!

I'm most looking forward to hopefully seeing anything on the retro ponies.  I'd also love to see baby Hippogriffs, any new character brushables, and a Fluttershy cottage theme for the FIM collection.

I'd like to see some upcoming non-Mane 6 releases, perhaps. I especially want to know when we'll get 4.5s of the CMC, they still don't have regular toys with their cutie marks, just FiM Collection figures. Plus I'm dying to see a filly mold for 4.5 in general!

Less than a week now!

For those that don't follow Bin's Toy Bin on YouTube, looks like Hasbro has sent them some sneak peak stuff to open of upcoming toys.  They already opened a huge box with samplings of other Hasbro brands.  They have announced they have something special for MLP and will post the video Monday midmorning.

I'm guessing it will either be the new playset or a set of the new student characters.

I'm so excited! Toy Fair is always my favorite time of year :frolic:

I'm mostly hoping for some new characters as brushables. A G4.5 Minty or Nurse Redheart would be cool, too.
I'd also like to see the retro ponies get some attention. More info on those would be lovely.

Out of the new stuff that's been already seen on entertainment earth/aliexpress/etc., I hope they have Sandbar (and that he doesn't come in a huge playset and curious how his hair will be styled) and the sculpted hair mane 6 set.
I also would be happy to see any other male brushable ponies.
I'll be interested to see any new character brushables too. Though I still haven't been inclined to start collecting the new style girls or non-pony characters yet, maybe somepony will eventually change my mind. I really wish they'd go back to the old style on those now that the movie is out but I know that won't happen.

$60's not too bad of a price and the playset looks cute but I will probably be skipping it, due to space issues. Unless I were to somehow find a better way to organize my G4.5 stuff I don't see myself having the space for another large playset, the Seaquestria castle's enough.

PINKIE PIE BEATS & TREATS MAGICAL CLASSROOM Playset ($29.99)

Depending on how big it is, I may get this one. The accessories are super cute.

They look cute and I'm glad they have elbow articulation, but I'm not sure as to what makes them double the price of the current reboot EqGs? Nothing points to coming with extra outfits or accessories, they just seem to be similar to the first reboot dolls, just wearing different outfits, not seeing why they're $19.99, may get them, but certainly not for full price, I'd wait for a sale.

Same as above, I'd wait for a sale if I decide to get them. Especially since these ones lack elbow articulation.

No elbow articulation, skipping entirely. I'd only get them if I found them while thrifting.... $70's too much for dolls with no elbow articulation smh.

Still waiting for deluxe reboot EqGs with knee (and maybe wrist) articulation... where are they, Hasbro?

I'm disappointed not to see more new characters.  There may be more to see in subsequent waves but still.  Also disappointed that it looks like that if I want a new character I will either have to pay more for a set or wait till it is deep discounted or second hand. 

And if they are going to do a whole holiday line then I want an actual holiday themed pony, darn it!  Not just old characters pearlized.

I really hope that the fim collection hasn't been dropped.  I really wanted a Fluttershy cottage to add to my set up.

So I was just perusing the floor plan listed on the Toy Fair's website and I noticed Basic Fun is listed twice in what looks like two different areas.  Then I tried searching for " my little pony" and Basic Fun came up as a result (though weirdly not Hasbro).  I'm so excited to see if they show anything new tomorrow.  Maybe we will even see some stuff tonight.  Last year wasn't there a special event were certain people got to go in early?

Awww, I like Silverstream. (Also as a lapsed Warrior Cats fan, her name amuses me :P) And ughhh I KNEW they'd pack Sandbar into a set I have no interest in.. at least he's not in a huge expensive playset, I guess. Not really a fan of his hairstyle, either (am I the only one that dislikes it when brushables come with specific hairstyles like that..?) but eh, at least it's not a mohawk.

Interested to see what the blind boxes are like (and excited to see more of Flim and Flam, I love those two). I'm wondering if they'll replace the blind bags. Dangit Hasbro, we don't care what the boxes look like, show us what's in them! :P

Well, this is a disappointing and ridiculous lineup.  Man, I miss the G1 and G3 days, when Hasbro wasn’t too cheap to make new characters.  MLP is just...bad these days.

We called it for the y2 pegasus and unicorns. But these are all at the US toy fair and the rest of us have had nothing at all yet. If we don't get Medley in the UK I am going on a rampage. You guys have been warned. O.O

I'm hoping I still have a chance to even get the first 6 ponies from Target... you know how hard it is to sneak stuff from there in this house? Hard. I'm not even supposed to be buying any more knickknacks (or as my family actually put it, toys).

I LOVE the new 2-packs! Those accessories are super cute! I hope we get one with Smolder the dragon too! I love the Cutie Mark Crew. They are somewhere between Playskool and G4 Blind Bags. The idea of having them in stackable rooms is not new but the little food items they sit in are adorable.
I see a random character in there but can't identify her. A light purple pony with tricolored mane.

Yeah, I thought it was funny how everyone was so down on the Cutie Mark Crew figures because "they don't even have cutie marks" when the pictures we've seen to date didn't show their butts.

Well, I think I've found every picture I could find.  EQD does have many photos of the brushables.  And I'm sad to say that there isn't anything else that we haven't seen already.  So in terms of new characters it's just Sandbar and Silverstream.  And it looks like I'll won't be getting anymore houses for my train setup. :(. No FiM collection.  The only blind bag stuff looks like left overs from previous translucent waves.

Half the stuff are things already in stores.  So I guess it's always possible that new things will be added to the line up towards the end of the year.

I'm surprised that with a holiday theme going on that there isn't a Minty.  Seems like it would be a good place to add her in.

Good news, more money to save up for vintage and retro ponies and HQG1.

I groaned when I saw that the blind boxes for the Best Gift Ever set turned out to just be more translucent/glittery blind bags. We've had soo many series with that gimmick that I can't keep which ones I have straight.
The Cutie Mark Crew set is probably going to be my main focus, along with getting more vintage ponies rather than new ones. This year's line is a bit disappointing.

I'm glad to see the G1 re releases but otherwise, pretty boring Hasbro.

The huge M6 Fiashion Style size set is about 6 years too late.  cute, but I'm so burned out at this point.

Best gift?  I guess I'm also tired of pearly ponies because those don't sound good either.

I guess it's just as well.  I don't have room anyway.

Same here u__u; I figured they'd be replacing the blind bags but I was hoping for a new mold or SOMETHING more than just the same old same old. I wonder which molds they used for Flim and Flam, the old wave 8 (or was it 9?) molds or the newer FiM Collection ones.. ohhh I just found a pic and it looks like they're the FiM Collection molds, interesting. Starswirl appears to be the FiM char instead of the blue/purple pony also called Starswirl (I hate all these reused names...).. and I thought the official spelling of Big Mac's name was "Big McIntosh", but the box spells it "MacIntosh" here? Mind you, it also spells Cheese's name "Cheese Sandwhich" so maybe they just didn't proofread the box XP

They're really pushing those CMCrew figures, huh. Dunno how I feel about them, really, I can go either way on them.

Welp, it's a shame there's not more new characters but two new chars, one being a boy, is better than nothing, I guess. And I do love that Starlight/Trixie figure ^_^ So, I'm happy enough with what was shown.

In the 3rd picture you can see Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy have some kind of design on them. I think they are similar to the Rarity seen further back in this thread with a glittery diamond design on her side and the 4 ponies with glitter designs that are currently on Entertainment Earth. I wish someone had taken better pics of their sparkly sides.

I wonder how the bobblehead plush don't fall over, they look like they'd be pretty top heavy. Maybe they used beans in the body?
I'd have to get the molded figures for sure, even if I'm mane Sick they'll look so nice when G4 has wound down and I can make displays by character.

Ehhh, I suppose it's possible they held some things back but the thing is that the Toy Fair is all about getting retailers to carry their products.  How are they supposed to do that if Hasbro isn't showing off what they have available?   I guess it's possible that they didn't show some store exclusives if they have already made the deal with a particular store.

It's sorta pessimistic of me, but maybe Hasbro is dialing back MLP because they got the Power Rangers license and / or pressure from their other licensed brands that's drawing Pony resources away?

What we all see is the press area that has what the companies are most eager to get press coverage for. Most companies have a secret room that's only accessible to buyers. It's mostly where they show spoilery stuff like Hippogriff Skystar that they don't want the press to see.
