The John Lewis about an hour away from me has the second set of rainbows!! Confetti is SO WHITE, omg. I can't believe how bright she is!!!!

Also I found the Collector three-packs in Forbidden Planet yesterday, if anyone was looking for those :)

So glad they've got to you too Carrehz! I seem to remember the earlier sets weren't easy for you to find. Hopefully the distribution on these will be better when they get going...

I have kept Flutterbye in her box, but Tickle and Confetti demanded evacuating. Confetti is really very white. Very neon. Totally different impression from the bride (the pose helps as well I think). I've got a US confetti but the new one is absolutely SO white it's quite dazzling.

So looking forward to Pinwheel and Starflower because the standards of these colourwise are so good.

Also looking forward to the Glory set even if it isn't till the summer.

So weird the UK is doing this in a backwards order though.

How bright is the new Confetti compared to the original walking pose Con? I've only got the Wedding Bells ver.

and yeah, I've still never seen the first set of rainbows. Admittedly I wasn't really interested in them anyway so it doesn't bother me much, but still.. They do seem to be getting easier to find over here, that's nice.

Old Wedding Bells is a gentler colour scheme, more pastel, the symbols have that soft pink and soft mint green tone; I bought an walking-pose one too and I recall she was similar in her pastel tone. (In storage ATM.)

Confetti-35 has a more vibrant hair colouring, more neon. The symbols are more saturated too, IMHO. She feels "more 80s" than old Confetti!

I bought 2, one in-box, the other for my kid to play with - am tempted to re-hair hers in softer pastels one day (if she wants me to)

I found the 2nd set of rainbows at Target last weekend--they were not there the week before. I also found the set with Bubbles a few weeks ago at a different Target. Other Targets had only scented rainbows and/or the unicorn/pegasus set. I absolutely love Confetti & Trickles! Pics:

I am trying to decide whether Fetti-35 (now starting to sound like an element from the periodic table) is just much whiter or whether the old Fettis are just old...

I can probably do comparison photos tomorrow with Wedding fetti. She doesn't discolour like the walking one tends to. I don't have the walking one loose, only MOC, and offhand I am not sure which box/cupboard she is in - but I suspect even the MOC one is more off white than the new one is.

Edit to add: Comparisons of retro Fetti and Wedding Fetti.

The shy pose one is a more creamy white overall, but I think it's the symbol that's the most distinctly different.

My Target only had Collector Ponies and Pretty Parlors today.

Wow the new Confetti is very white. :wow: I didn't realize the symbol would be that different.

No ponies at my Target but they still have shelf tags. So I’m not worried.
Thanks for the comparison photos, didn’t know the retro is in a different pose. Which I find fascinating.

She is in the regular Confetti release pose.  Confetti was released twice in G1.  The second time was for a wedding themed set and in the shy pose.

CherryTreats on the previous page has an original Confetti in the walking pose comparison photo, if you are interested.

I hadn't realised Cherry Treats added pics of all of them to her post, I needn't have bothered giving my Fetti a bath xD. Although she probably needed it.

But yeah, the only y3 Rainbow the UK had was Confetti in the shy pose in the Wedding Bells release as a bride. We never had any of the others or walking pose Confetti.

I have the US pony MOC but which box she's in I am not sure. Still I think the conclusion is that the white retros are super white. I noticed it today with Moondancer as well...she makes my y2 one look decidedly creamy.

I was just looking at peoples pictures and I feel the retro’s forelock are too wide on these new Rainbow ponies. Confetti looks really odd to me with such a large forelock. I’m assuming the other rainbows have one too, but can’t be certain from the photos I’ve seen.

Confetti's is fine, if a little wider...Tickle's however has a complete mind of its own. I assume Flutterbye's is the same if you take her out of box, because the hair is naturally on the NDS and that just doesn't look right to me :/ The mane comes over easily enough but the forelock....*shakes head*

Thanks for posting the photos and sharing the information, I love learning about G1 poses. Going to try to hit up the Target that's a bit farther away this week. When I was there two weeks ago they had the scented wave of rainbows and I might buy Sunlight and Parasol. Since I've never seen them in the wild due to how popular they are around here.

I have my fingers crossed for you! Especially for Tickle as I know how important she is to you :D

The good news is that with the boxes they are selling at the moment, there are more Tickles and Confettis than Flutterbyes and Trickles' in the boxes. So there is more chance of finding Tickle :)
   Taffeta

i wish to have her and her friends, but my absolute dream is to see then again on the shelfs!! WOW!!   Thanks a lot you all for the pics of comparaison!! it is sooo cool!!! Hugs to you all

I told myself I was only going to buy Starflower from the second edition Rainbows, but no plan survives first contact with the enemy. :P After seeing Confetti in person, I couldn't leave her behind. She's not all that much whiter than my vintage Confetti, but I recognize that I may be lucky in that regard. (I think my old Confetti is the mail order version? She's made of the same "chalk white" plastic as Sundance, not the creamier white of most other ponies.)

The hair is spot on, but her eyes are a lot paler. The really striking difference is her symbol though. The green is pretty close, but instead of the same deep magenta-red as Moondancer's stars, she has a bright coral color that flashes with a hot pink iridescence! Judging from pictures, they used this color glitter for Flutterbye's symbol too... which doesn't make much sense to me considering that it's nearly the same color as her body, but oh well. It makes me really curious to see if Starflower's stars will get the neon upgrade!
