Objects in plastic?
« on: August 11, 2014, 01:11:39 AM »
I received this Snails blind bag yesterday from eBay, and to my surprise there was this little piece of metal/plastic inside of his backleg. I've had a few ponies with smudges and so, but never one with what looks like a needle inside.
Have any of you ever had ponies with objects in the plastic like this? Any idea what this pin could be?

It almost looks like someone stuck a needle in him and it broke off... How very strange.

There is no visible opening where the needle should have been stuck in, it seems that it has been there when the plastic was molded!

Ouch! Never noticed this before... but to be honest I do not spending a lot of time looking at the BB, if I even get them out of their bags...

Did it come straight from China or from a blind bag?

That's the type of thing I would assume would come straight from China... (like a reject that didn't pass through QC, which wouldn't be too surprising to me.). X_x; I don't even want to imagine things like that in ponies that are opaque...

I've bought blindbags and opened them up to find all kinds of gross looking stuff embedded in them. The QC for blindbags is laughably low.

I have a Rainbow Dash keychain with that kind of problem. She's got all sorts of metallic residue inside her and it's really pretty gross-looking when you notice it. I bought her from TRU so she did pass QC.

It comes from eBay, but it has both production code and product code stamps on the bottom. So he might have been removed from the batch at a late point, IDK.

Yeah - I would have assumed this as well. I have see a few blind bags with issues over the last couple of years - some burn marks, holes in the plastic. Standard issues you would expect when producing something mass market this way.
Thank you Matcha for my gorgeous Baby Fifi avi

My Dazzleglow has a piece of string fused in the plastic on the inner surface of the pony. These are the things that just happen at times.  :)

I bet someone just tossed a pencil lead into the batch of melted plastic or something.
Cool find :D
