Which G1 ponies were USA release only? :)

Without actually thinking about it I would happily have chortled on about all the sets which were only part released as well...its only when you start adding up all the Australia/NZ stuff as well as some of the really weird mail order/packaged items it gets confusion.

And as a note I have just realised the Baby Blue Ribbon is another one who was not US only

This is a very interesting thread! I didn't realize until this past pony fair that ponies that we considered common here (US), were not released in other places. (at least not all of them)

I forgot the lovley gal's SN although I know her real name, my new friend from UK (introduced to me by PrincessLuna) this infomation about ponies.
 
We imagined it was some guy (male most likley) sitting in a Hasbro office somwhere going "yes" or "no" to various pony sets that were sold first in the US, to then sell in the UK (and other wounderful countries) making the call to sell them or not.

Of course, this is just what we imagined. lol No real facts.

For some reason I though some parts of some sets were not released internationally, like Lemon Treats and Mint Dreams, and Diamond Dreams and Sparkler.

They weren't or at least they were not released into Europe. But sometimes Australia and NZ carried the US set not the Euro set - so technically they got a release over there.

I'm fairly certain the second set of TAF ponies was US exclusive. The set with Munchy and Yum Yum.

By year 7 and later we only had European releases.

I'm from the UK but now live in Australia.  I have a particular interest in the differences between UK and Australian releases.

I'm very interested in the seemingly huge number of Star Dancers in Australia.

Also I recently found that Australia and NZ got the same sparkle babies as the USA - the see-through glittery kind.
