Took some time for her to grow on me, but I like her.
For the entire month of April I'll be featuring orange bodied ponies and also others that are nirvana. I'll continue to dedicate the first few days to birthday ponies in celebration of those born within that month. The last day of the month will be dedicated to a specific play set.

I don't know why I took her picture with Meadowbrook here, but it was the only pic I seem to have of Speedy in my phone. They must have shared a spa day together or something. I like her, but she's not my favorite Twinkle Eye pony by a long shot. And her pose is unfortunate, because it does not lend well to wearing the Great Skates ponywear outfit; she tips over.

I have her and love her. But then, I love most TEs. Her colors and symbol are unique, and there's not another like her.

Unpopular opinion here, but Speedy is a favourite of mine! She was a must-have the moment I saw her, good thing I got her cheap. :) Very unusual and unique colours, but they work well I think. Now that I think of it though, red/pink is sort of boring as an eye colour. Blue would've popped more.

I'm looking right at mine, she's orange. Perhaps some of them have faded or discolored to peach with age or sunlight?

Do you think maybe that the OP picture is correct and that the others have yellowed over time to go that orange colour? If they all looked like the OP I would definitely have tracked her down by now! I just love skating and I love the colours in her hair.

Haha this! I was undecided between 'want' and 'pass'. I would like to collect all the TE ponies eventually but that set is not high on my list of priorities. I've only got Fizzy so far (one of my childhood favourites) and there are a few others I love, but Speedy has always been one of those nondescript ponies to me... Maybe it's that weird colour which, as we can see above, is not truly orange, or peach, or pink. And I don't care for the symbol. The pictures posted so far almost manage to make me change my mind, though! :lol:

I believe the photo of the MOC is the German version of Speedy which is paler, then the more
common orange version :)
I have her but not the German version. Would love the German version. She is so pretty!

I never realized until this post what an odd color she is. In my other picture, it looks like she has a pinkish cast, but I think it's just the lighting. I got a pic of her compared to some other orange ponies (excuse the dirty window behind them, my 3 season porch hasn't been used in a few months).

I had Fizzy and Galaxy, but I never had Speedy, so I wouldn't mind having her to complete that Twinkle Eye unicorn trio.
For the longest time, I remembered there was a fast-talking pony on the animated show and I always assumed that was Speedy (made sense to me!), but I was corrected by someone that it was actually Whizzer.

I need her to complete my wave 1 twinkle eye collection (also skyrocket). She keeps slipping through grasp though.

Hmmmm I'd have to think about it. She's alright, but she doesn't really grab me... I do like the unusual combo of colours for her hair, though.

I like Speedy but I have to be honest, I like the European version better than the one we had here in the UK (which was the same as the US, for once).
The header in the main post is indeed the European one, which is paler in colour than the one commonly found in English speaking countries.
I have both. The European one also seems to age better?
I kind of like Speedy. I remember her racing Trucker across ponyland. Pony on skates vs truck.

I like her... Not enough to seek her out at this point, but if I got her in a lot I would be happy. I'd prefer if they were ice skates, personally :cool: I think her color scheme is cool.

I saw her in store in the 80s. I was certain she was reddish orange. That was a long time ago though.
I bought mine a few years ago. She’s very pretty! But her skates look like human skates and that’s kind of weird. It’s the reason why I chose Sweet Stuff over her in store. Same thing with Gingerbread. Why aren’t they ginger bread ponies? It didn’t make sense to child me. :|

Because that's the most well known shape of gingerbread cookies.

The first mistake is assuming Hasbro made sense. Everything else is a consequence of that ;)
