Should I complain to Hasbro?
« on: April 22, 2012, 04:01:12 AM »
I bought a Lily Blossom a few weeks back for collecting purposes, what I didn't see were the damage the figurine had on her ear. You see it was the nds in the packaging were the ear was damged, or the head. It looks like a razorblade got stuck in the ear as it is jagged. It doesn't show too good in the pic, but you can see it clearly if you look at her and it feels too. It's not just on the ear, but there's these marks spread 'round the ear.
I spotted the error as she was unboxed, but since she is unboxed the store won't take her back. :(

I think you should.  Maybe you'll get some freebies:)  I know other companies do that.  There were some defective diapers once in a box I got and they sent me a coupon for a free box.

I think you can complain. You buy a new pony so it isn't supposed to be broken already. And you didn't saw it bacause that side was in the box so you have every reason to complain about it.
Good luck and hopefully they will come with a solution  ^.^

If it annoys you - then yes! No harm in an email or quick phone call to raise your concerns.

Personally, I do think these are little inexpensive plastic ponies who are being mass produced and there is no way they are all going to be perfectly perfect...therefore there are some little issues we should accept and forgive...

BUT... if you are dissatisfied with your purchase, then whether that be a pony or a packet of biscuits, you would speak to the manufacturer. A quick initial email with pics to Hasbro is probably the best idea!

Thanks for all the replies! I've had this concern in my mind since I spotted that. I'm not too picky about ponies, but this error stands out quite a bit. Misprinted ponies are fine, but when it's in the plastic it's another thing. :/

My only little advance warning would be dont expect them to be able to replace Lily Blossom if they offer you an alternative it will probably be a random pony from the current wave. They obviously dont hold stock on older waves.

A couple of people have had similar manufacture issues about products but Hasbro can never seem to replace like for like on actual pony type...just like for like on the product range.

It's fine, as long as I get a pony that isn't damaged like this one. :/

I know there was a thread where someone else complained about the quality of a pony they received and they were sent a freebie as an apology ;)

Also, if enough people complain about quality maybe Hasbro will get their act together and tighten up their quality control.

I have a pony with a defect similar to this and I was debating emailing Hasbro about it.
Where would one go to contact them? I know their website but is there any particular email address we should be sending this to?

It's difficult to tell from the picture but it looks to be similar to what my Lily Blossom has

It doesn't bother me enough to replace her. (The scuff going across the eye decal of the blind bag ver. bothers me more >_>)

This. I emailed them, not about Lily Blossom, but about some ponies I had ordered from their online shop that had some defects and they did offer to replace them but I would of had to mail back the defective products (whole sets not just the pony itself) and there was a disclaimer that I may get "something of equal value" back if they were out of stock at the time my return was received.
I opted to keep them because I'd rather have the ones with the defects than not have them at all or get a replacement that was a pony I already had. I ended up eventually finding replacements in stores locally.

I once emailed Hasbro with a complaint about a G4 and they sent me a G3.5 in return. So careful!

I've emailed Hasbro saying I am disappointed in the number of head/body mismatches, ponies and sets that are dirty coming out of the box and my FS Rarity whose main moulted big clumps when I brushed it :( No reply yet though.

G1s lasted thirty years before showing signs of their age, G4s seem to show it on leaving the factory...
