Title: good image hosting website?
Post by: svleonard on January 14, 2018, 03:41:57 PM
Hello guys,

Well, since photobucket doesn't work anymore, does anyone know a good, free image hosting site we can use for posts on this forum?

Imgur is excellent! I use it for most things, generally graphics (sigs, avatars, ponysona refs, etc). I prefer Flickr for photos but that's mostly because of how many I take/upload. I keep all of my uploads private on both sites and haven't had any issues at all.

I recommend avoiding Tinypic because they reuse URLs so your innocent pony picture could be changed to a NSFW photo. Its happened to me before ):

Dropbox is the best is you don't want other random non-pony people to see your pictures.   If you don't care who sees them then Imgur is also very good -- you can customize the settings so the settings stay private but honestly I thought it was kinda a pain to do.  Both places you can create albums.  Lastly, you can use Facebook as well.

Seconding this - I've seen this happen and I've also seen them just remove images at random, no warning, and replace them with a "image not found" image. Definitely stay away from Tinypic :(

I do NOT recommend facebook, as their URLs change every so often, which makes images disappear if they're posted on forums and the like. Tumblr is a little more consistent, if you want to do social media posting.
