Taffeta has a little tidbit on her scrapbook about her: http://www.etherella.com/scrapbook2/danceschool.htm

All the UK boxes have the BBE baby on the side, but we established a while ago there are differences with the dance school here to the US (ie coming with shoes for one thing) and this seems to be another one.My childhood one is aqua eyed and has curly hair, I have photos of when I got her and so I think I can probably figure out which year if I go through stuff. The Dance School was available in the UK in 1987 and 1988, a lot later than in the US. My friend's childhood one is purple eyed and has straight hair. I don't know exactly when she got her but I do also have her accessories from her dance school and there is a colour variation on some of them (like the box is yellow I think whereas mine was pink...or the other way around, can't recall now, also the dance beam and stuff). So it seems like a batch release from two different issues, possibly. I am guessing that could be settled and narrowed down if the boxes change rainbow style between 1987 and 1988 like Kiss Curl's does, but I don't even have my own childhood box so that's currently something I can't/haven't pursued. There are pony comparison pics on the link above, anyway. It's not just the eyes.In the UK we had the BBE version as well and I am not totally sure how that worked out timelinewise but I am thinking we probably had the BBE one originally and then the regular eyed version after...and it's possible they were leftovers from the MO in the US that got sold here instead. I don't know for certain but the purple eye is harder to find. The aqua eye one is quite common over here.I do know we had the BBE one as a horseshoe points offer later so it may be that's the main way that came out here, but I have a strong feeling people have mentioned getting BBE in stores, and she's certainly not that htf either. Also, if you want accurate information, don't use Strawberry Reef for G1, especially not non-US. The Wiki is better if you want to use a mainstream site. Not perfect, but better, because it is still being edited and is not abandoned and out of date like SR is.Also! While NBBE is an ugly and horrible term, in this case Play and Care Set also doesn't apply, as she's not. She's just regular Baby Half Note. No adornments or additions.
No...she IS a variant of the dance school. It is just not clear from which year.

Ah Whoops, my bad. Knowledge corrected. The more interesting thing is that I am guessing you obtained her within Australia? Or was it from overseas? Thus far I think she's been mostly assumed to be a UK variation, since the regular eyed versions are fairly common over here - they were normal issue in the UK for a while. But if you got her over there, did she travel or was she sold there??

I can message them to ask how they got her, if that'd be of interest?

Why doesn't the wiki have her written in? Grumble grumble. I'll throw her up and see if anyone is willing to donate a photo.I always thought that curly haired ponies had longer hair, but they look like the same length.
