ALl solved thanks :)

Our computers are not connecting to all webpages properly.  I can go on here ok and a few other sites but I can't get it to go onto Google or any other search engine to find out more about the problem!

It comes up with:
Quote

Internet Exporer cannot display this webpage.
What you can try:
Diagnose Connection Problems
More information:

This problem can be caused by a variety of issues, including:

  • Internet connectivity has been lost.
  • The website is temporarily unavailable.
  • The Domain Name Server (DNS) is not reachable.
  • The Domain Name Server (DNS) does not have a listing for the website's domain.
  • There might be a typing error in the address.
  • If this is an HTTPS (secure) address, click Tools, click Internet Options, click Advanced, and check to be sure the SSL and TLS protocols are enabled under the security section.[/l][/l][/l][/l][/l][/l]
I like to find someone who can copy and paste info on how to fix this error.  Last night it was saying it was a DNS Server Error but it's not saying that today.  I'm using a Sky wireless box.  Any help would be appreciated.

Did you do an anti malware scan? Malwarebytes is a good one.

Have you tried another browser to see if it's just ie? I've had several problems with ie over the years not working properly when other browsers have pulled pages right up.

THanks everyone for all the advice... I wasn't able to take it because my internet went down completely shortly after I posted!  It's back up  now because an engineer replaced our main phone socket, which was well over 20 years old and wasn't making good connections.  The engineer said some websites need more connectivity than others which is why some worked and some wouldn't.  I've run malware and spyware along with my anti virus, they all came back clear so I think it was all down to the connection.

Thanks again :)
