Title: Highlight marks and unremovable stains!
Post by: Prince Firefly on November 28, 2017, 04:04:53 PM
I've been having a lot of trouble with restoring my Yesterdaisy and Desert Rose.

Yesterdaisy has these weird red marks on her. I've managed to clean some of it up, but it's still visible and looks awful on her poor lavender.

Desert Rose, on the other hand, has some pink highlighter marks that I haven't been able to clean off. They're more vibrant than in this photo.

Quick Oxiclean baths slightly helped in Yesterdaisy's case, but should I Oxiclean these two longer or get some nail polish remover?

Nail polish remover won't help, as the marks have stained the vinyl. OxiClean won't completely clear the marks up either. I recommend sunfading both of them. http://www.mlppreservationproject.com/body.html#SunFading This is a useful guide :) Hope this helps :)

I also recommend sunfading.  Pink marks take a long time to get rid of and the red might as well, but it's the most effective method for non-removable marks.  I am a believer after I bought a pony with a garage sale price on her flank in Sharpie permanent marker and left her out in the sun--eventually the marks were completely gone!
