Does anybody know this unicorn?

Well, I finally got to go through some of my old toys today and I guess my childhood ponies are gone.  I did find this girl though, and boy am I glad because I loved this thing and now she gets a special spot in the front of my collection as my only remaining childhood pony. God, I can't express how happy I am that I still have her. I could cry.

Meet Frosting. I got her in the gift shop at a theme park we visited every summer, and the year was probably 1996-1997. I'm pretty sure it was the summer in between the year I switched schools, so it's probably '97. She came in a pack of two, and the other one was purple (maybe blue?) and was in a standing pose rather than a rearing one. I didn't like her as much so I don't remember if she was a unicorn or an earth pony- and I'm 90% sure it was purple.

Does anyone know what company she comes from? I want to say that I saw a blue-haired rearing fakie in a lot now that I'm collecting, so I don't think they were theme park-exclusive. She has no markings except for a "MADE IN CHINA" on her belly. I can't even get over this. I'm totally sleeping with it tonight because I feel like a kid again.

Oh my gosh I have that one too!!!   You just brought back some fond memories!!  I don't know anything about the company though- I'd sure be interested to know if anyone else does.

I know the standing one you are talking about- I have a couple and I could swear they made glow in the dark ones too.  I got mine at a wild animal ranch/park we used to visit

Glow in the dark? Wow! I can only imagine those! They sound really, really pretty.

So glad to know that they aren't Holiday World-exclusive, but maybe they were just cheap gift shop toys since you got yours at a ranch.

i had well still have both! the other is blue!  i unfortunately dont know who made them, i got them as prizes at an arcade.. :<

Interesting- so I guess they were prize/gift shop toys.  Now that you mention the arcade, I think I got one or two of them at an arcade too.  And I know I still have them somewhere.  I'll see if I can dig mine out, especially the glowing one, and take pics this weekend!

So I Google imaged "plastic unicorn" to see what would come up, and these toys were like, the second hit. I guess I answered my own question here- they're from Nayab Manufacturing and apparently they're still being made! Unless these are fakies of these original unicorns that we got in the '90s.

Oh how cool is that?!  They look the same to me-  the only difference I see is that colors are a little brighter than I remember, but that could be the lighting or maybe a newer type paint used too.   Thanks for the links

I also have the standing blue one AND his name is Frosting because he reminded me of a cupcake with the blue color sprayed on white icing! He doesn't stand well. I got him at either an Ultimate Fun World or Skate Odyssey as a prize from tickets.

That's exactly why my Frosting is named Frosting. Even now, she reminds me of a pretty pink fluffy birthday cake!

I'm so glad to learn that these are relatively common and loved by lots of people, even if they are cheap prize toys. Right now, I have her hanging off the top of my laptop screen. I think I've found a new homework buddy! I love her.
