Actually, those were taken on the Hasbro vendor table but I won that set in the raffle!
With the exception of the painted hooves, Shining Armor is just the same as the Wedding Castle release as far as I can tell.
Lyra's hair is the same as the Wedding single. This ver. has the new rounder head mold though and to me the color of her body seems just ever so slightly lighter green.
I'll take some de-boxed pics of these in the next couple days probably ;)

No glitter on the cutie marks, and yes the head pieces are paper with elastic around the back.
I think it's kinda silly Princess Cadance has no crown at all.

Hmm... since I already have Diamond Tiara I think I'll just try to pick up the "muffin lover" 2nd hand somewhere. I do love Cadance, but I already have about 10 of her.
Well...I suppose that I should pick up the set to be a good consumer. But I won't have any problem having the patience to wait until it goes on sale, heh.

I'm definitely getting it. Will probably end up trading or giving away Lyra, Cadence, and more than likely Shining Armor.. But the others I do want. If I could get SA rehaired properly by someone, he could stay, otherwise I don't need another..... but I have a lovely purple spare tiara for DT already, and of course I can't wait for to get my hands on that googly eyed pony.....

I ll admit that other than Diamond Dazzle Tiara I was not really excited about this set...seeing it in photographs and I am still meh. Perhaps it will appeal more in person.

It's just, so sad that they re-used a pony not even over her own species. The pegasus wings are NOT correct at all, she has STICKERS for holes, Horn is Way off, but worst of all, her little signature creature poof thing is made of paper?

Also, Bubbles looks way off. Her eyes should be more yellow and less orange. Her body colour should also be lighter..

...paper accessories, really? :/ Maybe I'm in the minority here, but I'd much rather they had *no* accessories to those flimsy paper things. (Chrysalis' crown.. thing almost looks like it was taped onto the box, if that makes sense XD I'm not saying it *was* I'm just saying that's what it looks like, lol) Ah well.
I was really hoping Minty would be in this set :< But I guess I'm not really surprised, haha. Is it just me, or does Chrysalis' tail look really, really thin? :x I know G4s tend to have thinner tail hair in general (compared to other gens) but still, dang. Plus her vector is all messed up as others have said :p.
Heh, I like what they did for 'the pegasus that shall not be named'. I kind of half-expected them to do something like that tbh.
Lyrica looks cute :heart: (Does she have the visible eye-dents like Vinyl Scratch does? if that makes sense? Just wondering since she has different eyes).
Overall I'm looking forward to this set C: Kinda annoyed about another Shining Armour/Cadence release, but then again I'm not really a fan of them anyways. -shrug-

Apparently she's a semi-obscure background pony from some eps of FiM o3o I hadn't heard of her prior to the reveal of this set, either.
Dunno why they made her specifically (perhaps because she has the same symbol as Lyra :P), but she's cute ^_^ I like her unicorn eyes. (Also, Lyrica Lilac is an adorable name! :heart:)

Actually I think the holes are painted on just like the cutie marks and eyes are. Not that it makes it that much better but at least paint won't peel off with time.

Out of the set, I only want Shining Armor, Diamond Tiara and Bubbles. So spending a lot on the set doesn't really appeal to me. I'm not even sure I'd be able to sell off the ones I don't want. Anyone know how horribly expensive this set will be? Besides not having one near me, their way inflated prices are the other reason I don't like to buy from TRU.

Overall i am disappointed with the set. SA just looks so out of place amidst all the brushables.

She's one of the high-society ponies from the "Becoming Popular" song in the Season 2 episode "Sweet and Elite." :) She's also in the garden party at the end of that episode--I want to say she's one of the ones who's really nice to the mane 6 after the initial shock.

I think it would be better not to have anything at all than a sad cheap paper copy of what the pony would have come with if they had wanted to spend five more cents on the accessories... sigh.

I second this I am so happy they finally are making more awesome characters, but the execution is straight terrible, they could have done so much better but all they care about it saving money and making money... It's sad really look at G1 ponies so many moulds, and different kinds, colors, designs. Boys, sea ponies, newborns, wingers, flutter ponies, earth ponies, unicorns, pegasus, baby earth, baby unicorn, baby pegasus, baby boys, sweetheart sisters, baby sea ponies, teeny tiny, the list goes on and on... I just don't understand how they can get worse over the years rather than better :/
Also why in the world is Lyrica considered a favorite since when, never heard one person like her, swap her for Bon Bon. And Shining Armor and Princess Cadence, should be Big Mac, and a Changeling.

Incorrect coloring/vectors aside. I want this set because I don't own any of the characters. Am waiting for Shining Armor to start herding the other ponies. Corgi's are one of my favorite breeds, so that comment has stuck.
Muffins?? Least Ms D has a name. Though I l :dizzy:ike what someone said about "the pony formerly known as...." She keeps getting more name changes. It will confuse her poor self.
What's the cost for US folks? Am sure it's cringe worthy.

LUCKY YOU! I'm so very very very curious to see the comparison between the standard Lyra and the one in this box- the Toyfair pix made her look dark green but she looks identical in this set- do you have a regular Lyra to compare?

Normally I'd think that was the case- Amazon messes up all the time. But... it showed up right after the Minty ponies started popping up in droves, so.... ? I'm no expert though- if new movies always show up on IMDB first- then chances are it's a mistake of some sort.

Despite little nitpicks about the packaging, which will be recycled anyway, I think it's pretty good. I'm just not wild about three of the included ponies being ones already in my herd.
I'll admit that I'm thinking about using Cadance for a custom. But having the two included here is a good deal for those who didn't want to have to buy the castle to get them both.

I'm having mixed feelings about Grey Pony not being given a real name. On the one hand, I tend to enjoy running gags like that (for instance, Arnold's lack of last name in Hey Arnold!, or the mystery of which state the Simpsons really live in) but on the other hand, I wish they had just given her the name Ditzy Doo ages ago because I still feel it suits her. It's so weird that they just put a picture of a muffin. It bugs me when ponies don't have names.

LOL that's it, her name is officially Muffin! XD I approve, Hasbro. I'll be calling her that from now on. (Which is an upgrade from Bubblebutt, which I used to call her lol)
I actually am a big fan of this favorites release. We didn't get even ONE of the Mane 6 stuck in there! Three of the six are previous releases, but this is a great opportunity for some people (like meeeee) to get the Shining Armor and Cadance without shelling out tons of wallet dough for a play castle that takes up way too much room.
The paper accessories are getting stale though... I'm tired of Hasbro thinking this is acceptable. I can almost understand it for a collector's item, which these 'fan favorites' are supposed to be, but so many of the other G4's come with paper accessories and there's just no way those kind of accessories can stand up to any amount of playtime with a child! Like these paper masks the new Mane 6 and Sunset Shimmer singles are wearing? Yeah, I give those holding up for six months, tops, with any normal kid. Which just isn't fair to them.
I'm not saying the G1's never had any paper accessories (the Birthday Party Pack had paper hats with pompoms on the top), but it wasn't used nearly as much as the G4 line has made use of it. And the G3 line used it almost not at all (even the G3 Party Cake got a plastic party hat!).
I guess we collectors can feel good about how rare and expensive these G4 accessories are going to be in 20 years though. :P

I got Diamond Tiara on ebay cheap so the only one I really want is Bubbles aka "muffin". Hope fully someone on here will sell one cheap. I would love to just pay the price she would be if you take the cost of the whole set and divided it by the number of ponies. I assume they will be approx. 8$ each if the set is the same cost as last years. If anyone knows they will be selling "muffin" please let me know!

I am totally ok with Bubble pony's name being a muffin symbol. Not the word "muffin", but the symbol for muffin. Like that brief period in the 90s when Prince changed his name to a symbol, that's her name. She woke up one day, realized how much she liked muffins, and got her name legally changed to that.

I ll admit to being disappointed that there is not more of a colour difference on Lyra but I actually think Queenie is nicer than I thought. Is the choppy hair and elastics exactly how she came out the box? I kind of like that.

The paper crowns are just lazy D: If they couldn't afford to add plastic crowns, why add them at all?
They might look nicer if they didn't have that big white border, even though the masquerade/luchador masks were also paper these just look cheap by comparison.
The muffin is cute, but they kinda should make a proper name for her just to end the confusion...

At this point, there's no safe name to pick. Any name that is officially established will create all kinds of butthurt.

I personally like that they didn't name her. I think that it could be a fun running gag. I just personally would rather they had used her cutie mark as the symbol instead of a muffin. Although, on the other hand, the disconnect between the symbol and her cutie mark might fit her mismatched eyes. As others have said, at this point no one will be happy and at least this way, children can call her what ever they want.

It probably won't be too hard to change the 'spots' on Chrysalis into actual holes with a bit of craftyness. Oh my my my the pony formally know as D---- is now just a muffin. I still don't get the popularity of her. I'm mostly into G1s though and don't watch much of the cartoon. I like Chrysalis though and hope to get her. I'm hoping I can buy it off toys r us US site at some point as it probably won't come to the UK.

The elastics come in like that. I just smoothed out her hair a little and re-tied them. I kinda like it too. I did lightly trim a few crazy stray hairs but yes that is how the ends came. :)

Like many people, if the lack of holes becomes a problem I have a Dremel and know how to use it.
But man did they mess up her image on the back. Half of her neck is missing. :crazy:
I wanted to get Shining Armor, but not the castle so this is just the ticket for me (it will give me a Cadence double though).
I wonder why they decided to make Lyra a little huskier? And why didn't they use an actual pic' of her?
Diamond Tiara is my absolute least favorite pony, so I'm not sure what I'll do with her (you should see how I've got my BB size toy of her displayed :devious: ).
The idea of Drama Pony copying Prince has been getting around, so I'm fully expecting to see some art of it soon (and if not I might have too) :silly: . That and her holding a muffin at the end of EqG pretty much makes her love of muffins canon. But her bubbles are decals? Hasbro isn't getting that cheap now are they?

They might get yelled at for that name too (especially since they made a human version of her). At least with a muffin they've avoided many of the complaints on both sides.

33 compared the Lyras earlier in this thread. If I remember correctly the new Lyra has the new head mould and there is a touch of colour difference.

I don't mind the harp symbol being re-used because they did add some nice other details to Lryica/Lilac, necklace.
It's no use complaining (because I'm getting the set) but the new head mold... Looks too big, my 2c.

WEEEW I'm so excited to get this set! I really like how Chrysalis looks, the wings painted on the wings is really interesting.
Too bad my ToysRUS is still stocking stuff from last year, might have to wait till the holidays before they have these ones on the shelves.

Ooooh, seeing the set unboxed and in natural lighting...I think I might just import this set (wish all TRUs would stock it but oh well). I don't mind having two Lyras (maybe I'll gift the new one), and I'm debating selling Diamond Tiara but I really want the others now 8'3 So glad TRU US let you pay your import tax in advance.

I'm really excited for this set with the drought of new brushable characters we've lived through. I am really happy they included SA in this set for selfish reasons, I am hoping people sell of their extras so I can buy some for customizing :D
Cadence? Meh. ANother Lyra? Meh.
But I love all the rest (paper crowns=lame) and can't wait to get my hands on them :)

Minor minor colour difference in the body - probably explained in batch differences. 33 has posted pictures earlier in this thread which show a good comparison.

Very interesting it's $10 cheaper than the first collections set! Awesome news, So you get three larger ponies, for only $5 a piece! Great deal, can someone please let me know if this is a preorder deal or is this how much it will cost in the store? I'm waiting to buy from the store because I'm picky about factory defects and messed up hair so I try to pick the best looking set overall, so I won't be getting a random preorder selection.

I just went ahead and pre-ordered, because who knows how fast this will sell out in the stores? People tend to do crazy things when that silly muffin pony is involved, and I'm not driving all over kingdom come to find one.
I do really love the Queen Chrysalis though! (My main reason for buying the set).

Last year the exclusives shipped sometime after people were finding them in stores. I actually ended up canceling mine because I found them in my TRU first, and didn't want to wait for when their .com warehouse got them it.

Mmm, I don't know if that price will stay.... remember last year?? It started at $45, but it went up because so many people wanted it, TRU hiked up the price.... that's why I've nabbed mine on preorder for this lower price.

Mine shows a shipping date sometime in September. And yes, I'll probably wait...the whole reason I prefer to buy things online is because I am physically limited to how much driving I can do (stupid ankle injuries)!
I'm not digging the paper hats that come with these sets though. Someone needs to make a real crown for Queen Chrysalis...or maybe some kind of sculpted, tiny barrette? Hmm....

I'm waiting on a sale on their stores :). Last year after i bought toys they had a bogo 50% and on black friday they had them priced 20 dllrs less, so i will wait on the favorites sets to get lower , kinda not thrilled to get them this time around, so is that big NM talking , Cadence went down to 12.99 at some places later on ! Will see ..... Plus the other 2 Coronation sets , is a lot to buy all at once anyway!
For sure will wait on the talking moving PTS even at 50 she is way too expensive for my wallet Lol

I am the same way. I collect my ponies and keep them in there boxes. So I do not want ones that look horrible in there home. I hope that is the price in the store :)
