First Look at G5 Toys

I found this Sunny at Walmart.  I don't advocate messing up brand new toys in the stores and leaving them for someone else to buy but I thought it was interesting that someone had taken the bottom band out of her hair and you can see the colors better.

I saw the G5s for myself today and wow, I have to admit, they DO look much better in person than on the photos! All of you guys who said their faces look much less flat IRL were right! They're still not really 'my style' but I'll concede, they look much better than I thought they did.

...Well, except the big Sunny (the one a few posts up - BTW I didn't notice all the colours in her hair before, either :o), she still looks a bit too Dachshund-y to me x) But the little molded-hair ones in the accessory packs are actually quite cute! Plus it was just nice to see new ponies again, most of G4.5 and the later G4s never came out over here (not in my area, at least).

Out of the moulded ponies, I noticed Moonbow is the only one with the fullest, and most detailed tail.

I got better pictures of Zipp today.  I'm still undecided if any G5 ponies will join my herd but Zipp is really growing on me and is at the top of the list if they should decided to sneak in.

Is her hair red/green or pink/blue?

Supposed to be pink and blue, but I do agree it can look sort of reddish/green

It looks like a very deep almost-red pink to me, like G1 Sugarberry maybe.  And then the stripe looks like teal...so....kinda in between straight up blue and straight up green.

I hope the green guard reuses Trailblazer's head since he already has green hair. I'll take it over the paintbrush hair of his blue co-worker any day.
