First Look at G5 Toys

I sent sister a picture of Izzy and she's weirded out by the eyebrows.

My store has started re-arranging shelves and moved a large amount of clearance toys to the clearance aisle, so the shelves are pretty barren. All the Styling Size Izzy's sold out, but they had the large singing Pipp and the Crystal Adventure Sunny!

(I moved Sunny next to Pipp for the photo, Sunny cost $7.97)

If you click on the image to zoom it in you can see they have price tags out so I'll be chekcing daily to see what comes out, I alreayd decided what I will and wont be picking up for now! I won't go into detail about Sunny as TailRustedTeaLeaf already has a great video about those ponies out.

I've been also checking the kids books/coloring books and even kids bedding from time to time to see if anything shows up but nothing yet.

I was initially excited to see we had a few of the new toys show up at our Wal-Mart yesterday too, but it was only the plushies and the tiny, articulated figured (the orange and white ponies, I still can't remember any of their new names except Hitch). But there were none of the larger, styling size pony, and I don't know if they just haven't received them yet or if they're all sold out. Since the styling size are the only toys so far I find even remotely cute, I was pretty disappointed not to find any. Hopefully they won't be impossible to find going forward.

Haven't seen any of the new figures at my store yet. The shelf is kind of void of ponies other than the large pack of G4 Movie versions with sculpted hair and the PL pack with Pinkie and DJ

I went back to the store I found the new ponies at.  All of the styling Izzys were gone but there were a few new plush ponies including Izzy.

my Walmart is starting to restock the toy section and put up new toys but nothing MLP related, in fact I have no clue where they moved the old stock that was on the self. There is zero stuff on the sales isle. But my WM did not have a whole lot of pony related stuff here lately to begin with. I haven't noticed where they're going to put the pony section yet. My walmart is so slow sometimes, there are just huge sections right now with nothing on them.

So I checked my local Walmart after getting my 2nd vaccine shot, and looks like they cleared out some space on the shelf... the tags were for Hairmazing dolls, Calico Critters, and some MLP

Still no brushable mane for Hitch but... you can brush the tail of this one? I guess it's an improvement? But I'm still annoyed with it. They are very actively trying to avoid giving him a brushable mane I don't understand at all.

Those are so cute!!! I do wish they'd give Hitch a proper brush able mane, but he looks significantly cuter in this toy compared to the other one we saw of him. I think these styling sizes are definitely going to be my focus of collecting for this gen.

What's sad is that Hitch won't sell as well as the girl ponies because he isn't brushable, and then Hasbro will assume that Hitch doesn't sell because he's a boy pony/isn't some combination of pink/purple, etc., and then just not make many further releases of him at all.

Well, I see he's been upgraded to an overgrown McDonald's toy. Maybe he'll get a proper mane sometime in the next five years?

Half molded half brushable bothers me even more than fully molded, tbh. But I guess it's a step in the right direction...

I went to Walmart to get dinner but of course stopped by the toys. They had some G5s but not the ones I know for sure I'm going to be getting. They only had the molded hair set, the playset, and the plushes. I don't really like the molded hair ponies and I'm trying to be more picky with MLP plushes after getting rid of a lot of my G4 ones a few months back. I'm hoping I'll find the brushables soon, those are the ones I really want. Both the normal size and the styling size.
