I suppose they could be used as baby ponies for G1/G3...

Lol, or their toys :)

All of a sudden I'm thinking of possible G5 babies... Imagine Hasbro simply using blind bag molds for those

Wouldn't put it past them... man I JUST can't get over the fact that they're reusing previous gen molds for their mini figures, can it even be considered a fully brand new gen when they do?!

They used bb sized ponies for babies in G4. This wouldn't surprise me in G5 in the least.

Yeah, I can't get over them reusing the blind bags, either. I know they reused some G3 Ponyville accessories for G4, but that's one thing (heck, they've always done that, didn't one of the G1 stereos get used for Jem too? And I know G2 reused at least one G1 AND LPS playset). I mean, I understand that, why bother making a new little present mold when you've already got a perfectly good one that's the same scale as the new toys. But reusing the actual PONY molds across gens?!? That's just... it just feels weird, and it's silly, G4.5 and G5 have different art styles. :/ I can't really figure out exactly how to explain why it bugs me, it just does.

I can't believe after all our theorizing about how CGI animated ponies were going to make it possible for interesting additional markings like socks and blazes, and then we finally see the characters and indeed they do have some nice horsey markings! ....after all that, none of it appears on the actual TOYS. Wow.

I shouldn't be surprised by Hasbroken by now.

That's such a good point! But the direction they took with G4 definitely made it seem like MLP is just done being a toy-first franchise. So if your character designs are too expensive to accurately represent as toys? Don't change them, or even bother trying. I bet that's Hasbro's mindset. >_<

Did any of the other generations come so close together?  I mean the time between each pair of generations.  It feels like g4-g4.5-g5 are right up against each other.  That might be one reason they didn't dramatically change the pony designs and sizes?

G3/G3.5/G4/G4.5 and G5 is coming hot on the heels of G4s end.

Ever since G3 Hasbro realized it was better to keep a brand running ala Barbie than to keep having to come up with new ideas that may or may not be successful.

I think the only notably long gap between generations was between G1 and G2. In the US there was years between G2 and G3 as well due to G2 not being successful enough here, but not in Europe. Production has been pretty consistent for MLP ever since G2 began in 1997. I don't think there's been any notable gap in Hasbro producing ponies since then. G2 ended in 2003, G3 began the same year. G3 immediately transitioned into G3.5, G3.5 into G4, G4 into G4.5, and now G4.5 into G5. Ever since 1997 ponies have consistently been released by Hasbro.

Guys!! I found Izzy!

She rang up as $14.97, obviously put in the wrong spot though. She is so CUTE. Her hair is very soft and good quality, and she's a good size for a styling pony too. I'm going to send off some photos to the news sites, but if anyone wants me to post additional pictures and info here let me know what you want to see!

I'd love to see pictures of her rooting!

Of course! Please share any photos you like. I also sent in pics and info to MLPMerch and EQD. I found her at a Walmart here in Texas. I'm in the Houston area but closer to the gulf.

Here's some photo spam!!

Rooting, her rooting is very interesting. Her roots are done horizontal, the holes are very small and uneven, and I counted I think 11 lines?

Size comparison! She's bigger than a G4 styling size but smaller than a G4zilla

Accessories. This threw me off a lot. Her comb, the flower braid, and two large gems are outside the packaging and the rest are in that weird box next to her. Wehn I popped the box off, everything else was wrapped up very tight and small into tissue paper wrapped with tape. The "flowers" are fabric, and you use the small gems to secure them in place.
