Argyle STARSHINE?? Oh wow, I thought that name couldn't get any worse... x) Those words just don't go together! Not a fan of the overly long two-word names this gen in general, I think I've said that before, but geez! It just doesn't roll off the tongue nicely.

The art of the main 6 does look lovely from what I can see of it, nice variety of poses too! instead of the "generic stock standing pose" stuff that a lot of G4 packaging had.

...Oh dang I just noticed Trixie's there... aaaa... I've joked before "I always say I'm not interested in a new line, and then they go and put Trixie in it just to lure me in!" and then this happens XD oh man. Are those the G4.5 blind bag molds being reused again? They look familiar, but there's been so many new toys teased/revealed lately, it's hard to keep track of them all...!

Yeah, seems they're just using the same blindbag mold. I'm personally not the biggest fan of the g4.5 bling bags but I do own a Celestia one just because. I'm not sure if it will stick forever though. With this collection and the Advent Calendar it looks like we'll be seeing it a while longer.

Oh.

....oh.

 -_-

I'm genuinely excited for this new generation, the animated designs for the new ponies are beyond adorable and I'm just so happy to see ponies back in the limelight. But those brushables look rough. I hate having such a negative attitude before they've even been released, but boy oh boy, are those disappointing. I guess I can hope that as time goes on perhaps they'll re-vamp their designs, but if this is it, I might just have to pass altogether.

On the plus side, their Styling Size ponies so far do seem far superior! I really, really, really hope Hitch is included, and that they'll release Princess Petals with normal wings.

These all look just so incredibly sad  Man... the molded hair action figures really do look better than the brushable set. Hitch and Zipp seem to have about the same hair length, why not give them the same type of hair?

They really couldn't even be bothered to come up with new molds for the mini figures?! I'm honestly baffled by the lack of effort here.

I agree about the PL moulds.

I think I’ll try to get the one “best” small brushable of each character.

I suspect I’ll feel different after seeing a few episodes or the movie. I find I’m somewhat forgiving of toy oddities if the characters are great.

Maybe thats what hasbro is banking on?

I see they're continuing some of their mistakes with boring poses and any non core character being relegated thus far to blind bags.

To me the real test for MLP coming back towards normal again, will be lots of different pony characters with proper hair, and at least most of them easy enough to get.  If they can't be bothered to do that, I'll just get the few I've got my eye on, and be done with this gen. I'll probably do that anyway,  because I cannot get over their face and head shape.

I'm not of a fan of the molded maneand tail on Hitch. Also their marks seem a bit low to me.

I refuse to touch the blind bags, because I thoroughly despise the Pony Life moulds. It's like Hasbro heard every complaint people made, and conspired to bring it to life. Why do they hafta foist it on this new generation? I don't think it sold very well.

I agree with the pig thing.  For some reason the Hitch toy makes me think of Link Hogthrob from Pigs in Space.  I'm not sure if it's the ears, the hair or the smile that makes me compare the two...

On second look it might be the eyebrows and jawline on him.

You know, the more I look at not-brushable-brushable Hitch the more bothered I am by his head mold, like... it kinda looks like he doesn't have teeth?

His jaw is just larger with the closed mouth, which honestly reminds me of Mr. Cake from FiM
