Has anyone tried using leather/shoe paints on a pony or another plastic/vinyl project?  I was looking at Kicks brand because it is a flexible paint, which I want for my G1 baits because that plastic is less rigid than the G3/G4 baits.

Plaid FX brand (found with the Cosplay materials) works really well on plastic/vinyl (it's what I used for the Style Challenge) but Hobby Lobby carries limited colors and Michaels has stopped carrying it at all (which I found out after driving an hour to the nearest one) so I need to find something a little more readily available.  Amazon is outrageously priced for the FX colors I want (I am not paying $8 a bottle) but Hobby Lobby carries Kicks (also made by Plaid), which makes it accessible for me.

It's acrylic paint so I don't see why it shouldn't. It says it's good to use on vinyl. I'd go for it. I personally wouldn't shop at Hobby Lobby, but that's me. Plaid also sells them online here - https://plaidonline.com/products/brand/kicksstudio

Had a go at sculpting something rather special. Will need to dry overnight & phone will need charged, but I'm pretty proud so far!!! The sculpt in question is sitting on some improv props for now...

Ugh, guys I'm dying I have three commissions to do and two gifts. One commission and one gift are almost done. One needs approval from the buyer and if it's okay, just has hair and eyes left. One needs hair to be dip dyed, rooted and eyes. I think I'll reroot first and then dye it, it's just the ends.

The rest? Haven't gotten started on. Two of them are from the same person (who wants four more after these), and they are complicated sculpting. I gave them a deadline of July and it'll be June soon!

My motivation is tanked. I'm so stressed out and tired constantly. I haven't been able to sleep.

I think I need to make something for myself, or do something fun. Maybe that will spark my interest but I need to not feel guilty about it.

BC, ouch!  Don't overextend yourself!  I bet doing something for yourself would really help kickstart your creativity again.  I know for me I was kind of dragging my heels on the projects that I "needed" to do and then once I decided to make a set of Star Wars ponies for me I was interested in doing the other ones again too.

Alternate rehair March birthflower - just needs eyes glazed and hair styled
My "do this in your own style" custom pony - hair rooted, symbol and eyes half-painted 
Baits for my bday swap pony, a contest pony, Harley Quinn, the Mandalorian, Grogu, Grand Admiral Thrawn and Ahsoka Tano
Three customs in progress of OCs from an online pony game - one about 20% sculpted, one with sculpting done at the sanding stage, and one that didn't have sculpting that has painted details in progress

 

And I'm sure I'm forgetting something...

Indy's Legacy is almost done! I'm so happy to have actually made pony clothes, rather than sculpting them, but I do not recommend sewing leather, it is so difficult! D: I still have to finish his mane and touch up his symbols/jacket, but he is almost complete and I am very happy with this Big Brother pony!

Mine is part Customs, part art & craft. Plastic Ponies have to wait a bit because I have to complete this one who, aside from stuffing, is all yarn, & aside from embroidery, is all crochet. I wrote the pattern myself & this Pony will stand up!!!

I would now have approximately two years to make a pony for my mother as a 70th birthday present. Maybe I should start planning it already. She has a wish for a blue pony. She loves violets and cats. Perhaps the symbols could relate to them. I think I'll choose a unicorn.. If I ever happen to find one in poor condition here in my country.

^ Thank you! I wish I could get this done in time. I have also had another project for several years now, but it has stalled at the planning stage. I already have a bait for it, but I just haven't been able to start doing it.

I've been thinking that this mother's gift pony could be in Mimic pose or Powder Pose.. Or Glory Pose. I guess they are the most proud looking of all? My mother is a Leo in her horoscope, so such a lofty position on the pony could be good. (I've already made her a zodiac pony for her 60th birthday and used Bubblefish Pose on it.)

I have to go more diligently to the flea markets myself and tell my mother to visit them more often as well.
Today she found me a G3 Starbeam which is not in very good shape, but it doesn't fit this custom and I don't think I have it in my collection, so it goes in my collection.

I need to start planning my Halloween swap custom. Looking forward to the swap again, Halloween swaps have always been some of my favourite ones! I guess I like to embrace my dark side every now and then

Another pony is also in the making. There will be a custom contest at a Finnish pony con in about a month's time. I've just submitted my sign-up form and I think I've settled on a design. I'm excited!
