Hair dye for Chrysalis? And other question.
« on: May 23, 2013, 07:53:32 AM »
My Crush got me a white Celestia from ebay together with an Alicorn Twlight. Since I already have a Celestia I was thinking of tranforming this one into Chrysalis. I hate her official Brushable thats comming out. >:C Anyways Im not good at rehairing so I want to color her hair using color Dye. Ofc I will remove the tinsel but does someone have a good color suggestion or?

And another question: Is it possible to wash/shampoo the hair of a pony that is painted with acrylics? Im scared that the paint might get off but Im not sure if this can happen.

You won't be able to dye the pink parts blue... It'll just turn purple. ^^;

You can't use hair dye on pony hair. You need to use something like RIT.

Pony hair is nylon (closer to plastic/fabric).  Fabric dye usually does the trick, as Kat suggested RIT dye is great.

yes and no.  You have to seal it first.  In my personal experience, dullcote alone is not a good enough sealer to protect the underlying layers from water penetration.  I've gone to sealing with a few layers of clear gloss before using dullcote to kill the shine.

Thank you for all the replies. I just ordered a pack of Textile Dye. Lets see how she will turn out when I get her. :)
