Probably Starshine, Glory, Moondancer, and Medley so far.

Releasing the Movie Star ponies would be a good way to break into the So Softs since they are six of the more popular and well known characters of that massive set.  And they their colors and symbol designs are more accurate the prototypes (which were used for the media).

I’d love to see how the  So Softs would look re-released....

Me too! Just imagine, perfect, fluffy so-softs!

yeah pretty much.  I don't remember seeing the earlier releases in-package, on-shelf, so I really would probably go nuts if they did a run of baby ponies with all the CUTE accessories!

I use the term "Movie Stars" to describe the set of Wind Whistler, Buttons, Shady, Magic Star, Gusty, and North Star released in UK and Europe since it's French name was "Cine-Stars".  I mean this would be a good set of six to get the ball rolling with So Softs.

I read it that way too :) Those six are the Movie Star ponies but they would have to not be SS to be Movie Stars, otherwise they'd be SS ponies.

But the set would need Paradise, Lofty and Ribbon, and possibly Truly and Cupcake as well to make sense, so maybe we need Movie Stars version 2018.

In any case, movie stars and so soft ponies are not the same thing :) It's two different sets.

I know, and would prefer the deflocked Movie Star version.  Besides, it would probably be more likely than them trying to make flocked ponies.

I'm going to be annoying now, but they're not deflocked. They're regular ponies. The SS ponies are flocked, but the Movie Stars never had flocking. Deflocks are customised SS ponies. Let's not confuse the two ;)

I am so delighted to have found some of the original 6 in Hawaii!

How awesome! Who did you get?

Butterscotch, Snuzzle, Minty & Blossom.
I couldn't find those other two!

Fine, unflocked.

I think the term Movie Stars works fine. Hasbro UK might not have called them that but Argos sold Wind Whistler as a 'Movie Pony' and the card makes it impossible to avoid so that is what they are.

I am pedantic about this, but I am not a fan of using any term that makes ponies I grew up with seem subordinated to their US equivalents. They're not unflocked, deflocked or NSS. They are Movie Star ponies, or regular versions :)  (And distinct from Cupcake and Truly, who are 'Pony Friends' and not Movie Star Ponies. Shady of course is both.)

As much as I dislike So-Softs, I think I'd rather see them (but not ALL of them, lol) produced rather than the Movie Star ponies, because then the collectors who DO like them would have a chance to get mint So-Softs.  It's soooo rare to see a truly mint So-Soft.  I've only come across one once in 20+ years of collecting.  "Good condition" or "okay condition" SS's turn up pretty frequently, but not mint ones.

I also love the rearing pose.

I think they are more likely anyway, as I am still sure this is all being done on the US line. The US had SS ponies, so if they were to release any of these characters, those versions are more likely.

I love SS ponies but having never grown up with them I guess I don't mind if they make them or not...

I still want the y3 rainbows and unicorn and pegasus ponies more. As well as a release of Medley's set that is definitely guaranteed for the UK. If I get that, I will be largely content. Those are the bulk of the ponies I regret not having as a kid here (save for Lofty, Ribbon and Paradise of course). Lofty, Ribbon and Paradise only coming in flocked versions wouldn't really fill that gap for me though...it may prove easier for TBD to make these characters as regular releases.

It would also be a shame to make the Movie Star ponies and leave out Ribbon and Paradise especially, as they seem to be quite popular. Ditto Truly and Cupcake.

The logical SS memorial set would really be the ones from the animation, I suppose, rather than the ones people tend to like as being rare and htf.

I think if they did bring out sets of SS ponies, I would hope Magic Star was not included, just because I have real trouble identifying/connecting to her in that pose.
