I bought some hair off ebay a bit ago, but I don't remember the colors. I'll check when I get home. If there's any Electric Banana, you're welcome to it!

Nylon hair really don't even need boiling water to curl. I found that hot tap water was typically enough for the most part, even if in the end it becomes a soft curl instead of tight ringlets. I think if it wasn't nylon it wouldn't take to curling easily with just hot tap water (with the exception of a few colors apparently)

I have an update! Tina emailed me back today. She agrees that the color looks off and is sending me three free skeins of electric banana to replace the problem ones. I am happy to mark this as resolved. Thank you everyone for your help and input!
