How long does it take surface to get from Canada to Australia...?

Good morning, ponies...

So I sent out a parcel on May 14th by surface mail to one of my buyers, and it still hasn't gotten to her yet.  We're both pretty concerned at this point, since according to CanadaPost, surface mail is supposed to take 4-6 weeks (I'm not sure if that means 28-42 business days, or literally 4-6 weeks...). 

If anyone has any advice on how long it should take, or how to find out from the postal system where the parcel might be at, how to get the money back from the postage system, or anything vaguely related to this, please let me know.  The buyer seems rather new at this--she sent me payment in the wrong currency at first, and confesses that she's had some difficulty recently in getting packages delivered from international locations--and I'd really like to help ensure she doesn't have these difficulties in the future.

Yes, three months in my experience too (several times, even!) I try to stick to Air now, as Surface really does seem to be 12 weeks to either Aus or NZ and I can't stand the worry! Still, I wouldn't worry too much quite yet... Fingers crossed that everything goes smoothly for you!

I've had airmail packages take anywhere from two to seven weeks, it's really unpredictable, but I don't have any experience with surface from Canada.

I never use surface mail myself, but I've been told by my local PO that although they aim to get it there sooner it usually takes around 3 months to arrive , which seems to be true for most people who have used it
There will not be a tracking number , but you could try using the  custom form number - sometimes you can tell that way if its left Canada yet.

I agree with the 3 months mark. I once got a pony shipped surface from canada to nz, it took 11 weeks to get her : / our customs tends to be faster than australia customs as well. I will personally never ever choose surface ever again the couple of bucks aren't worth it

A LOT of the packages I've sent to AZ and AUS have taken 3 months...I actually  a refund to an arena member for a package that hasn't arived r(sent out early May) and I'm now thinking we should have given it more time, seeing your posts.

I also agree with the 3 month mark. I used to get some of my large Care Bears shipped this way it was 3 months even some 10 yrs ago.
