« on: August 07, 2021, 08:55:11 AM »
Looking for MB Ice Crystal in NM, mint, or on card ! Paying fair price according to condition.

Just received the babies today. They look even better in person! I was worried the names wouldn't be legible due to the size, but they came out perfect. The only thing I would want to change is to give them shorter manes, like the length of a normal G1 (any suggestions on how to do that?) The soap was a really sweet bonus :) Thank you!

I just posted a MIB G4 Rarity/Star Swirl I am taking offers on if you are interested.

Pony Corral / Re: POTD 8/10/2013 pepper berry

I never understood her symbol, but liked her all the same. :)

Black pepper is suppose to taste fantastic on strawberries (or strawberries are suppose to taste fantastic with black pepper on them :P). There are several recipes out there for peppered strawberries. I think it was a fluke that such a creative symbol design managed to make it through to production. Maybe it's an inside thing, like all the designers were together eating strawberries with black pepper and had an aha! moment LOL.

I love her, she's one of my fav G3s.

Pony Corral / Re: My Little Pony Media Over reaction????

I think Huff is way off the mark on this one. As others have stated, as long as Hasbro keeps making ponies I don't care if they have this offshoot line of dolls. They are not as bad as Bratz in the least and it's not fair to compare them to that line. Bratz are all about being sexualized and having the cool sexy clothes and expensive accessories (cell phones, "bling", purses, cars etc etc). NOT the kind of example I think is healthy for anyone to model after, especially young girls.

Actually Bratz were not about being sexualized either. Their message was more about friendship and diversity (great) and materialism (not so great). Their bodies weren't even that busty. I think the backlash against the Bratz is more of an internalized racism cause most of the Bratz styles are urban and they have big lips. There is an awful stereotype that women of color are more "sexual" than white women and quite frankly that disgusts me.

Internalized racism?? Really? I was born and raised in an urban environment and my opinion has nothing to do with their diversity or big lips. It was purely about their sexual style of clothing and materialism. If that is how you perceive urban culture, that doesn't make it a positive image. Women paid for their companionship dress that way too, are they just being cool? Of course, even the popular, catty, rich white girls had thier click of friends. I would not call the story about their friendship being a core value of their toy line but rather a vehicle for their exploitation, cloaking it as "friendship". Yeah, all friendships should be based on shopping, wearing makeup, having the cool stuff. Oh and boys, let's not forget about the boys.

It sounds like you are coming from a very biased position rather than looking at what the dolls offered outside of "big lips" and "urban style"

The EQ girl line is, again as others have pointed out, just a manifestation of real girls who are cosplaying the characters in real life. They aren't overtly sexual, their clothing is reasonable in style (no belly shirts, hot pants), their accessories more innocent, their stories have morals and values.

I also think MH are at least more creative (and I admit , I think they are actually pretty cool/cute), being based in fantasy, not reality. Not fair comparison.

I think MH and EQ got their inspiration more from  Blythe dolls or anime dolls, following  their cues rather than the horrid Bratz line.

Pony Corral / Re: Army Ponies - How did you decide?
« on: July 19, 2013, 09:14:48 PM »
I never was much of an army kind of collector and never really saw the appeal until I got my own mini army unintentionally...

I came across a great deal on an auction for 2 nm condition UK Baby Honeycombs and decided to grab them. I already had a UK Honeycomb and UK Baby Honeycomb so I was going to use one for a prize choice on the MLP Talk Show I was cohosting at the time. The other was going to be reserved for trading. Turned out, the winner of our contest chose the MIB Fair Pony instead of the UK Baby Honeycomb and I had no trade in the works for the other.

That left me with 3 Baby Honeycombs and a mama Honeycomb. I was going to sell/trade the extras until I put them all together and realized I had my very own BEEHIVE.

Yep, that did it, just the thought of having a Beehive made my insides so happy I knew I was never going to part with my bees :)

I will happily add to the hive if I come across more needing a home.

I got them from the local dollar store :) (Dollar Store, Dollar Tree, something like that) Only $1 per pack. Had to buy 18 packs to get the complete puzzle. Breakdown was basically 1 moment, 1 location, 1 character card, 1 tattoo sheet and a checklist card.

Found the secret Fillies puzzle set today from the value packs! I couldn't find a thread on them so thought I would post here. I posted in the other thread too although I think this should have a thread of its own considering how relatively unknown these currently are. These don't show up on any enterplay checklists even though they are obviously produced by enterplay.

They are not foil cards. One side has a mini checklist and the other side part of the puzzle image. Numbered Value #1-Value #9

I got my cards yesterday!!! Check your mailboxes :)

I am now the proud owner of Series 2 #F35 Pinkie Pie and Series 1 #F37 Rainbow Dash!!!!

Update on Enterplay Flash card sales.

I won 4 sales, 3 cards and the mat. The 3 cards have been marked shipped (YAY!) as of yesterday and I received an email saying I didn't win the mat but could choose from any other card (besides RD, Rarity, or autographed) as a replacement. I don't want to say which 3, I'm afraid to jinx it LOL.
Bummed I didn't get the mat but I am super impressed with the response by Enterplay to offer other promos as compensation. They certainly didn't have to do that!

Also, for those of you still waiting to hear...Make sure you check your spam folder!!!!! If you didn't get a card they will send you a message that simply says INVOICE with the # as the title. The person it is from doesn't say enterplay  so most people are finding the emails in their spam folders (I did). It's legit email though. Mine was from Heather Wright.

I have been trying to get Leaper's bandana for a couple years now >< It just doesn't come up often and when it does it's usually with Leaper (who I don't need). Even then it goes for a ridiculous price or I miss out.

Sweetie Baby Barrettes. Don't get me started on that.

Purple Goblets for lavender DC...elusive for everyone. I've only recently joined the hunt for that one.

Princess ribbons, ugh.

There are rarer accessories but those are on my list and are a pita enough by themselves without me trying to think of even harder ones!

**********UPDATE************

Thank you everyone for your replies and advice  :grouphug:

The seller has given me a partial refund! We communicated a bit more and smoothed things over (I think). She explained that she thought there was a misunderstanding and the tone communication ended on a much nicer note.

Everyone makes mistakes at some point or another as a seller. Maybe her first reaction was just to be defensive due to dealing with crappy ebayers.  I'm just glad that she became easier to talk to and hopefully that is because she realized I really wasn't trying to scam her.

I'm not going to speculate further on what happened or why, I'm just thrilled it ended in a more positive way than it all began. I don't like having negative seller/buyer juju out in the air ya know?

I stopped selling on ebay because of how difficult buyers can be. I know there are those out there that will try and use feedback extortion for refunds etc over nothing. However, this is clearly an error on the sellers side, not mine. I hate asking for partial refunds and only did so in this case because of the extreme international postage cost. Returning the pony is just not happening because of that cost.

The seller really does have perfect feedback and I've bought from her at least a couple times in the last year. No problems and thrilled with the ponies. She was actually becoming a "favorite" seller of mine (even if I didn't always win/buy) because I appreciated how detailed she would be and the great pictures. I am just shocked she is being so mean over this when it was her error. :(

Even if she gives me a partial (which I hope) that means I will still have to try and find another Star that meets my standards and sell this one to try and recoup my costs (which is unlikely since I overpaid).

Thanks for the response. It helps to just get it out sometimes. I like buying/selling on the forums so much better. Sellers here know my standards and I know their rep so it's win/win for everyone.
