US East Coast to get snowstorm, expect delays

If you're expecting to get a package from the US, or are expecting one on the East Coast, be prepared for delays. The mid-atlantic states and are expected to get a snowstorm tomorrow, ranging anywhere from 6-18 in. depending on the area (My area in MD is expected to get 6-8 in.)  High winds are also expected, making for blizzard-like conditions.

It was really bad in Chicago this morning too and most of the flights out of the major airports there were canceled so that may also cause a delay.

Yeah, we are getting smacked now. Even our treated roads are no match for this. They are telling people to get off the roads and STAY HOME.

They kept my job open, but the federal gov't closed and the commuter buses weren't running because the feds shut down. I decided that was a good sign to stay home today, even if it eats up a day of leave for me. I'm still in one piece!

Its pretty bad here in WV too. We got 7 inches yesterday plus more to come this weekend

My husband is down in New Orleans for a conference this week.  He was so excited because it's been so cold in Indiana but of course the week he goes it's unseasonably cold there LOL

Things seem to be getting better here as far as roads are concerned and the airports in Chicago seem to be having fewer cancellations so hopefully there will be no more delays from mail coming out of or moving through Chicago.

I honestly have to hand it to the postal system - sure they've been slow, but we've had some truly awful weather lately.  I've been getting all my things I've ordered in a relatively decent time, and from what I'm looking at on TS here, most people have had international issues, but otherwise getting their stuff?

We have a system that is headed to the south now. From New Orleans to Savannah. Please be patient if you're waiting on something from down here. The areas that are getting snow/ice are not used to this type weather. Most counties do not even have snow plows

We are thank you! My 4yr old was with me (taking him to school) He screamed but just out of fear. No injuries, we even walked back home.
