Daisy Dreams with Bangs?!?! (Nope!)

Last night at Toys R Us; Orem, Utah, I found this on the shelf:

My thoughts:
"Daisy Dreams with BANGS?!?! I must have this!"

"Wait, I can't see her cutie mark, maybe they grabbed a different pony off the floor in the factory or something?"

"Kinda the wrong color plastic and hair for Daisy Dreams."

Turned it over, noticed these rips in the bottom cardboard:

"Hrm, guess someone must have opened the package at some point."

"And that's Twilight Sparkle with bangs, not Daisy Dreams at all!"

Took it up front to show off, discuss cost. The service counter employee also pointed out, "And this one has a horn!" (Why didn't I notice that first?)

So, whoever bought a Riding Along with Rarity and Daisy Dreams, opened it, replaced the exclusive Daisy Dreams with an old Twilight Sparkle with bangs, then returned it to the Orem, Utah Toys R Us: 1. Shame on you! 2. Twilight Sparkle with bangs? Isn't she more rare than the Daisy Dreams?

So, they have this one on hold for me if I want to trade one of my pristine sets for it. With the sale last week, that puts it at $10.68 + shipping.

Anyone need a 3-inch Twilight w/Bangs and/or scooter Rarity?

Oh wow, that's super weird!  o.O The things people do to get a new pony...
Thanks for sharing, I am going to pay even more attention to pony toys now Gotta keep an eye out for those strange happenings and switcheroos. (After all those blind bag incidents too!)

     This happens all the time with wrestling/star wars figures, they take cheap/old ones, swap 'em, and abuse the store's return policy. It'd be less offensive if they claimed them as defective, but the swappers have to get their jollies by fibbing 100% and their ill creation gets put back on the shelf.

     I think it's only dudes that do that stuff too, it's a dang shame they're doing it with the ponies. I mean, it's only $15, it's not like they swapped one in the favorites set but couldn't afford to pay their bills and buy the set so they decided to become a crappy retail con artist. How pathetic.

I saw a wedding castle set at Walmart where someone took out Cadance and SA and then replaced them with the mini figures of them... ; I took a picture, which I intended to post here, but never did.

It's interesting that a TS with bangs has shown up though...they've been mostly off to market for probably a year now.

At least they had the decency to buy it first, compared to opened blind bags everywhere, my location isn't even safe from stolen blind bags, and I live in the middle of freaking nowhere.
I give the dude credit for buying first at least.
I saw something similar to this earlier this year (or last ear, I forget) of a returned Lily Blossom box with a raised leg AJ inside! It was on another forum though...

That's shiesty. I ask my family in California to keep an eye out for sets that I'm having a hard time finding here in CO sometimes. I might stop doing that now for fear of something like this happening. They wouldn't know the difference.

So someone purchased an item and then returned it in order to get something for free or at least at a significantly reduced price? That's just wrong and actually really disgraceful Especially considering 1) the value of the price and 2) the disappointment to potential future buyers.

I saw a McDonalds pony in place of a scootaloo in Australia, the weird thing was the package didnt really look THAT tampered with.. I would have taken a pic but the store clerk was right there
