Although its because her glitter has fallen away rather than a specific variant...I like her with the lighter yellow sun anyway..and less likely to rust as well!

Please DO NOT sunfade starshine!! She burns... oh, how she burns. Even in weak WI sun she crisps up like bacon. Her body was brownish so I put it in the window, however her head was beautifully white!

This is after about 2 weeks in the window... oops!

I believe she was released a second time as a mail order and there were small production differences there.

DemureGirl, I'm so glad you posted pics, because your Starshine's symbol looks almost exactly like my Starshine's symbol after an unfortunate experiment with hydrogen peroxide! The symbol on mine has the darker glitter in the center, but the part I accidentally exposed to the peroxide lighted up to exactly the same color while still retaining its glitter. She also is from Hong Kong and I think I know what you're talking about with that waxy feeling! I kind of want to just cover the whole symbol to make it uniform (plus I kind of like the lighter gold color!) but I am super nervous to mess with her any further, especially since she's one of my childhood ponies!

I think she got missed of in the mail order releases - wasnt it Parasol, Confetti, Trickles, Flutterbye, Starflower and Pinwheel who were the Rainbows who got mail order releases?

I think Starshine only got a store release...
