Little Confused... Italian Sea Ponies?
« on: June 01, 2013, 01:51:21 PM »
I thought there were three Italian sea ponies

Sea Spray - Ambra Marina (yellow with pink hair)
Surf Dancer - Maristella (blue with yellow hair)
Wave Dancer - Giada Marina (pink with blue hair)

but I saw a pic of Surf Dancer with pink hair on the MLP wiki.  Is she Italian? Too confused.

Yes, there are Italian sea ponies. I have sold a couple MIBs years ago, let me see if I can dig up the old photos from those. Blue with pink hair they were

There is a pink haired variant as well as the yellow haired one :) I think she had a more restrictive sales area, but can't remember the specifics. Pink hair is harder to find than the yellow, but she has been seen MIB as well.

Yes there is also a pink-haired blue one.  She is by far the most rare. I have seen her MIB and loose (and owned her both ways).  So yes, 4 total, haha!

Lol, that is actually one of the MIB's Firefrie bought from me back in the days. Dang it, I know I have a picture somewhere, just can't find it as it is so long ago. Will have to search that external drive or files from my ancient computer

Are they less prone to discolouration compared to the US ones?
I was thinking about getting Italy Seaponies instead because of that.

Sadly, this is one of many areas that I should have updated long, long ago on my site.  I keep saying that one of these days I'll redo the site with more details, but I'm not sure it will ever really happen.  :)  At any rate, here are some pics for you, albeit poor quality.  Pink-haired Maristella was only produced in the Dutch box, not the original Italian box.  (I don't believe there is any difference between the ponies themselves, just the boxes.)

Here are pics of the regular Maristella and the variant, with and without boxes.  :)

I think they discolour just as much as the us ones thanks to rusty weights. Also the pink one is so prone to fading to white like italy twilight and firefly. There hair also is much thicker and tends to be a dryish at the ends
