Title: Crystal Creatures anyone?

I found these lovelies by accident when I was looking for Mega Construx Pokemon kits.  When I saw these on the website I did some more searching and watched a video on YouTube.  Luckily a store nearby had them in stock!  While these are a 'blind box' type of toy, the video explained there are codes on the bottom of the eggs these come in.  So you can actually get the ones you want.  Love that! 

I chose to get these three out of the five currently available in series one.  But there is a series two confirmed that I am now eagerly waiting for release!

Anyway, here they are:

FrostWhite

RoseStone - This one has parts from the 'RubyWing' figure.  I swapped tails and the leg cuffs as I felt they fit the look of this one better.  You can swap any parts with these sets! 
PS - Ignore the wing in the background on this picture.  I goes to a Lightfury dragon toy.  oops!  This figure has holes for wings, but does not come with wings.

Oddly I didn't want the two alicorn figures as much.  Although there is a black one I may eventually pick up.  I just wanted something different and I adore these deer!
They are poseable, though the wings are too heavy for the joints and can't stay up.  Overall a goreous line of toys I hope to see continue!

One NOTE:  These are packaged in slime...  Sticky, gloopy, slime.  I guess that makes them 'fun' to hatch, but I don't care for it. 
If you get any I suggest having a sieve with tiny holes to put in the parts (assembly is required, but is not difficult).  Once you carefully dig out all the parts (some are tiny!) you can then rinse off any remaining slime in the sink with warm water.

Anyone else have these?  I love them!

Those are so pretty!

But I am not very fond of these "new" ways of packaging blind box toys (e.g. the new My Little Ponies do this as well). Who knows what sort of dangerous chemicals/microplastics these are coated in - and what these chemicals ultimately do to aquatic creatures. --- If someone can correct me and prove they're not dangerous, thanks. :)

Unfortunately I have no proof the slime is harmless.  The slime is shimmery.  So I don't know if it's mica powder, or man-made glitter.

I will say that I gave most of the slime to my youngest stepdaughter.   Only the excess was rinsed off the parts. 

I get your point. There is now a lot of waste in toy packaging!

Those are really neat!  I got one completely unaware of the slime component.  It was so disgusting I'm never doing it again.  I wish they just sold them in regular packaging.

I agree with the slime.  My husband asked if I was ok, as I was grossed out at first!  Cold, sticky, gooey slime is not fun.
I washed my hands in between each one.  Even though I knew I was going in for more.  lol   

I will buy more, as there are some great looking creatures coming in series 2.  But boy, if you could get it without the slime that would be great!

Edited to add- I do think the toys are well worth the slime dig.  Well made and very pretty! <3

These are cute! I haven't seen them in the UK yet, but I hope they come over here. I like the look of the Breakout Beasts as well, they remind me of the old Plasma Dragons I used to love.

I think they look nice. Especially that Kirin and white dragon!

I am also bothered by the slime, wondering if that stuff is toxic or not. AFAIK, these are the girly variant of Breakout Beasts. Kinda annoying that new concepts always get tested on boys and only if they are popular enough girls get a spin-off.

I gotta say, these CC horses look better than the Breakout Beasts. But the BB hippogryph is pretty cool:

I've been eyeing the Breakout Beasts.  That hippogryph does look nice!

I have to admit, I found an old gift card with a bit of money on it.  So, I caved and bought one more today, the black alicorn.  I love it more than I thought I would!

This one's wings are actually holding upright.  The pale deer and the yellow kirin's wings drooped.  And from videos I have watched, that is a common issue, the wing joints aren't strong enough to fight gravity.

That is the clearest picture of the 2nd series I have seen, thanks!
I know I want the black panther, white lion, the silver griffin, and the lilac deer also!  I hope someone posts the codes on Youtube when they are released.

If you want, I can get some for you.  My local store has a display bin with several.  I know which code goes with what creature.  They only have series 1 for now.
They are $10 each.  I don't know how much shipping to the UK would be though, so it may not help.  (I live in the USA.) I don't know if de-sliming them would save weight/shipping cost, but I would be willing to do that too.

Just message me if you would want me to do that!  If not I understand, shipping can be very expensive.

Sometimes the opposite happens. Shopkins > Grossery Gang, Fingerlings > Fingerlings Untamed, Wrapples > Wraptiles are three off the top of my head.

Oh! I'm glad you made this thread! I just ran across these last night and I was so in love with them that I bought the whole box! XD I wanted to make sure I got all 5 characters. I really enjoy looking at them, but I HATED the slime...

I'm going to have to get rid of my duplicates, either here on the Arena or on ebay. You say there's a code on the egg so you can tell who is in each egg? I'm going to have to try to find that, I have only opened 2 so far.

I need to make a thread about slime....

Yes, the bottom of the plastic egg has a series of numbers and letters.   The two numbers near the end before the "TC" is what you look for.  It's engraved in the plastic, I had to hold it in the light just right to see the code

02TC is the pale deer "FrostWhite"
03TC is the Aqua unicorn "AquaGem"
04TC is the black Alicorn "NightSky"
05TC is the yellow Kirin "RubyWing"
06TC is the brown Deer "RoseStone"

There's going to be 9 creatures in series 2, instead of 5, huh? Aww I really like these but I don't know if I want to invest $90 for the next set... hmm... well I guess it's about the same as two ponies per creature so I dunno it's not so bad looking at it like that...

Yes, looks like nine for series two.  So far I only want 4 or 5 so that saves me a little money... unless I cave in for more.  Lol!
But I've never been a completionist type of collector, I get what I love and leave the rest.

I found these at Belk (a clothing store) of all places.  I didn't see them at my Walmart.   That isn't to say Walmart doesn't sell them, it's just my personal experience.

I got mine from the bookstore where I work. :) We have a small toy section, about two tables worth. We're selling them at $9.99 each which seems to match the prices found elsewhere.

I'm not sure where else to find them but at least if my store has them, they're not an annoying exclusive anywhere.

Oh wystearya! I forgot to say, try switching the wings and flipping then over, so that their painted sides are facing up. I think you'll find they're more stable that way.

Oh wow, this worked wonders on my Kirin!  Thank you!

While it also helped the wings stay upright on my pale deer, the wing shape must be different and the wings look weird.  (No picture.)  But maybe in time the plastic will go into the right shape.  I am thinking they may have been bent a bit from being in the egg.

Well I finally finished opening all the Crystal Creatures I'm going to keep. I really love how they display! :D These are such neat critters.

I have extras leftover, since I bought a full box, and thanks to wystearya's codes I know which ones I have duplicates of. I'll add to my official sale thread in the Sales forum later, but for now if anyone wants to purchase any of these, I'll sell them at $11 each, just send me a pm. :)

They are unopened as of now, but if someone wants me to open the egg and wash off the slime and just mail them the toy pieces, I would be happy to. That would probably save on shipping, since the slime makes the package kinda heavy.

They do look cool! I'm going to try to resist collecting them all, even though I am usually a completist kind of collector. ^^; It's hard for me to see my toys on a shelf and know that it's only half of the collection lol.

But for sure I want the two dragons, they look soooo cool! I love their body shape, how it's different from the horse and deer and kirin from series 1, who all have similar body shapes.

I want a couple of the lions too! I'll probably skip the brown deer since we already had two tan-ish colored deer in the first series. But I can't resist that white unicorn either... lol. I'll probably end up getting 5 or 6 out of the 9.

They give you a packet of confetti to mix with your slime...oh joy... :P Oh well at least the kids will like it.

I also found a white winged unicorn with a rainbow mane and tail! It looks like it's a Walmart exclusive? It comes in a 3-pack so I'm going to skip it, because I don't want to spend $40 to get one new C.C. and two duplicates. :P I think $40 is a bit ridiculous since they are usually $10 each. $30 for a 3-pack would have made more sense to me, but I guess Walmart is banking on people spending the extra money for the exclusive character.

"Oh joy"  LOL!!  Yeah, I was hopeful the slime would be separated from the toy.  But nope, it's sparkles for the slime.

I agree about the brown deer, I don't need another.   I love the lavender one!  And the white and black cats are definitely on my list.  Also the white/silver dragon! 

Even though I am not keen on the slime, I can't wait to find these!

PS - If I had known about the 3 pack before I  may have considered it.  But, like you say, it is pricey, especially with two of the three being duplicates.

*nod* Agreed. Since I like the other two characters, if I had seen that in stores I probably would have bought the 3-pack to get the exclusive along with the other two. (We are just the kind of saps the companies are taking advantage of LOL!)

I've never seen any Crystal Creatures at my local Walmarts, though. I only found this exclusive pack when I was doing a google search to try to find pics of all the characters.

Ooohh the last time I checked the Mega Construx website they only had the Series 1 pictures up, and now Series 2 is up! Maybe that means they'll be in stores soon!

You know, there's a couple of the "boy versions" of Crystal Creatures (Breakout Beasts I guess?) that are kinda cool too... If I could find those in stores I might be tempted to grab a couple of those too. There's a black unicorn that looks kinda cool, even though he's evilly screaming lol.

Oh yes, I have watched some "unboxing" style videos on the Breakout Beasts.   Some of those are cool.  I may have to try for a griffin sometime.  I like that their mouths can open and shut with the jointed jaw.

I'll be checking my store this weekend for series two, though I don't know if they are available just yet.

They don't seem to have great distribution, that's for sure. :( I didn't even know these existed until a box of them showed up in the warehouse of the bookstore where I work (we have a random assortment of kids toys for a few tables in the kids book section).

I haven't seen C.C.'s at Walmart or Target, which are the only other two places I go to look for kids toys now that TRU is gone from my state.

My work just got in a box of Breakout Beasts Series 4! I didn't even know they had a series 4 coming! Hmm just checked the Mega Construx website and it looks like they just put up a new series 4 image on the top of the page, but no details on the Sets page about it yet.

I was hoping this might mean new Crystal Creatures too, but no luck there. :( I'm hoping they'll be on the truck shipment next week~

This sturdy stallion is called Blazeburst.  (Egg code is 05TC)

The egg he came in is orange, but his colors go perfectly with the teal tops of the Crystal Creatures egg.

A shot of the pair!  The mouths open and close on both of them.  Balefyre's flame is removeable.

Oh, and the slime was a better consistency!  I will call it 'jelly' slime.  Less watery and much less sticky!  I am hoping this will be how the series 2 Crystal Creatures slime will be.  I hardly needed to wash any parts, as they came out clean.

I didn't expect to get hooked on any toys again.  Don't get me wrong, I love toys, but I haven't found any that grabbed me the way these have in years.  I have a new collection going!  <3

Ooooo they are pretty nifty looking! I really like the face sculpts of the CC's but I admit it is cool to be able to open and close the jaws of the BB's.

If you're looking for other BB's, here's what we have in my store right now: (I thought we got a whole box but apparently we only got a few.)

Series 4: 07TC and 08TC

Do you know which ones these codes go with?

PS - Looks like series 3 hase numbers like 71TC ?  At least that is what I am finding.

I meant to mention that I do generally prefer the more elegant sculpts on the CC's.  I just wanted at least a few of the BB's as well.  The eagle head is really nice!  I am looking for an old series 2 BB, but I am probably going to have to eBay him. (And pay double price.)

Oh whoops! You're right about the series 3 ones, sorry. The codes are so tiny and hard to read on the bottom of the eggs lol.

So my store has Fangrene and Rivenbeak from series 3 and Tidalfire and Hydracc from series 4. Thanks!

(You know this is so helpful, having the codes. I wish Hasbro wasn't a butt about their blind bags and containers, making it impossible to know what MLP figure you have unless you buy it. :P )

Although it's not likely, I'll definitely let you know if I come across any series 2 in my travels. :)

Still no new Crystal Creatures, but I gave in and bought Rivenbeak. He's pretty cool! I don't think all the BB's really look like they came from the same 'world' as the CC's (if that makes sense) but Rivenbeak fits with them perfectly. Until I opened the package I thought he was a gryphon, but he's actually a hippogriff! With fluffy Clydsdale feet! I love him!

I have to admit I like the Breakout Beast eggs better than the Crystal Creature eggs. The CC's all have a boring 'gray bottom teal top', while the BB's have cool eggs that swirl different colors of plastic together. The series 3 eggs are purple/green/black.

Hello! I'm glad there's people who love these two lines as much as I do! Does anyone know the codes for series 2 Breakout Beasts? I've been desperately looking for Charcoalt to no avail, and when I found codes for that series, they were wrong and I got the wrong Beast  :pout:

Let's see, I had one that ends in 76TC... and I got... Fangrene, a green dragon. (I like the one from Crystal Creatures much better)

According to this image, Charcolt is Series 3, not series 2, and he's code ending in 73TC.

I just noticed Sleetstorm looks like half eagle, half dragon! Wow! If an eagle/lion is a gryphon, and an eagle/horse is a hippogryph, what would an eagle/dragon be....

Yeah my friend found them at Smiths with that 10$+ tag and told me amazon was the cheaper option (which is about 7 something plush tax, free shipping if I get two of them plus another item I had my eye on lol)

make me sad though that these kinds of things don't get a lot of a spot light on them :(

Yeah, you need a cartoon show or at least webisodes to really sell a toy line! They need more attention to bring in more sales.

For me, the price is a bit of a hesitation, but not a deal breaker. Lots of kids toys of this size and detail are around $10. Parents will pay it, they just need better distribution and attention.

edit: i also had a really fun time getting all the pieces out of the slime on both, i didnt have any trouble at all! its not the kind of slime thats fun to play with, but it still sticks to itself so once u know that its easier imo. I use a bent paperclip to get it out of any hard-to-reach places. I didn’t even have to rinse em off!

And I gotta say, the slime definitely adds a level of accomplished feeling to it, especially considering the kits themselves are relatively simple to assemble. It might be gross for some people but they sure knew what they were doing haha. A cheap option to make it feel more worth it. I have been successfully tricked 😂

Went looking for Crystal Creatures to see if I could get a hold of NightWing, but they already replaced them all with Season 2 CC  :huh: I didn't expect them to come by so soon! I'd love to see owner pics of Fairya (the green dragon). If she's traslucent as some pics around this thread showed, I'm all for it!

Well I got my 2 from series 1 today and I got to say I'm not happy about the slime...
 I got RubyWing but right now it's sitting in a tub of soapy water till I can clean off each piece... I haven't even opened the 2nd one because I'm trying to figure out how to without getting slime everywhere

What I did was have a sieve (with tiny holes) and put the parts in it.  Once I dug out all the parts I used warm water to rinse the parts in the sieve.  It worked for me.

I will say that the breakout beasts I got had better, less gooey, slime.  I am *hoping* the new CC series will have the better slime.  Series one is awful gloopy!

As far as I know, the golden/silver slime is the worst, the sticky kind. Other slimes have had more consistency and thus more manageable. I tend to dig it up from holes using a toothpick or even the BB/CC's unicorn horns

Yeah when I picked up the series 1 CC's, I definitely noticed the difference in the silver/gold slime and the translucent purple slime. Sigh. Either way, it's all such a pain.

So anyone have Aquagem from S1?
I noticed mine out of the slime had it's mane/tail/forelock in an opaque color but after a few days those pieces are partly now transparent. Are those pieces for her supposed to be like that and were they only opaque due to the slime?

My Aquagem's mane/tail is also traslucent, with white and blue "bits" into the plastic. A bit uneven in my case, but it'll do.

I just came across this thread! Me and my son love these. He got one for his birthday two years ago and when I found out they had the crystal creatures with Unicorns and Pegasus I was sold. I have never seen the crystal creatures in stores, except for when Costco had the three packs at Christmas time last year. Breakout beasts are pretty easy to find, but crystal creatures are online only near me as well. When I saw Justice had series two on sale I decided to take a chance and ordered four, then the next week they went on an even better sale and ordered eight. Only got four copies by looking at the codes out of twelve. Haven’t opened all of them yet, only four, but I’m loving the new cat and dragon molds!

The slime has been a better consistency, the metallic ones in the older ones are definitely worse, but I also think it has to do with how they are stored. Had a series one frostwhite that came from Arizona and the slime was horribly sticky, the worst yet, even her wings were stained from the gold antlers. My sons frostwhite, the slime was fine. He had a series two breakout beasts with orange slime that was terrible, but the other two from that wave were fine.

And since the stores near me are getting series four of the breakout beasts and have never seen crystal creatures in stores I also order series three so I have some to do while my son has his lol.

I’ll try and post pictures of the series two I opened and when I get series three. I haven’t posted pictures on here in forever so hopefully I can figure out how lol.

I've been keeping an eye out in stores around me but, like you, I've never seen the CC's in stores except when my own bookstore sold a box of the Series 1 (and I bought the whole box because I'm obsessive LOL). I hoped buying the whole box at once would make them restock quickly, but nope. My store never got another box. :(

I didn't want to buy online, but it looks like I might have to if I ever want any Series 2. You mentioned the place you buy them has a sale going on? What is the website and how much do you save? Do you just get sent a random egg, so there's no way to tell what you're going to get before you buy?

I know, it’s really weird that their not distributed as much as the breakout beasts. I know some people have found them at Kroger’s and Walgreens. But that seems to only be in the Midwest and East Coast. I don’t have Kroger’s where I live, but have their other company chains and nothing.

Breakout beasts on the other hand I find at Target, Barnes and Nobles, and Albertsons.

I don’t like buying online either, but I saved up and bit the bullet. Seen a couple on eBay and Mercari. Amazon which has them at retail price of $9.99
I ended up getting my series two from a store called Justice, it’s a girls clothing store, actually use to be called Limited Too and I shopped  there as a preteen lol. They had them, looks like their out of stock now. They were $12.99, went on sale for $9.71 and got free shipping. Not much different than Amazon but I’ll take any savings I can get.  Then they went on sale for $7.77 and got free shipping. And yes all random.


The series three I ordered from ToyWiz, also on Walmart through them. On their actual site they had two listings one at $11.99 and one at $12.99. Now looks like it’s just the $12.99 listing. Signing up for their emails gets a coupon code for 5% off. Also get sent coupons, just got another one this week.

Speaking of getting ones you don't want... Does anyone have any extras they want to trade? When I bought the entire box of Series 1, I got four extras and I've been meaning to sell them on ebay but I haven't gotten around to listing them yet.

There's a series 3!? Oh man we haven't talked about series 3 in this thread, yet! I gotta go do a google search!

Edit: Wow I just checked ebay and NO ONE has series 2 for sale! There's 3 pages of Series 1 for sale, and one person selling a couple Series 3. I think COVID probably happened just as Series 2 was being released and it probably hurt their distribution really bad. :(

I think Series 2 might be rare in the future because of the COVID distribution, so I might cave and buy a box from Amazon. >_>

(Rare doesn't mean they will be worth a lot of money in the future, though. Toy collecting is such a guessing game about what will or won't be worth anything... I own a bunch of toys that aren't in production anymore and they aren't worth much because they aren't in demand.)

I can't imagine why they're so hard to find! If you're going to put out a product, you would think you want it to make you money... That's hard if they're only available online and only in the US.

I caved in and ordered 9 of the Series 2's from Amazon. I know I get a random assortment, so I doubt I'm going to get one of each of the characters, but we'll see.

(I might have a bunch up for sale in the next few weeks, after they get here LOL.)

As for Series 3... there's a person selling all 7 on ebay for $120 which isn't bad I guess... it comes down to about $17 each with free shipping. I dunno, I don't like paying almost double retail price, but the seller guarantees you get all 7 characters with no duplicates, so that's nice.

And my series three got here last week so we did a couple!!! Missing one from series three as well.


So sorry to hear that Sora. That’s so weird. I know other countries in Europe have them, I wonder why the U.K. doesn’t?

Also noticed that some of them change over time. I thought I was losing my mind, there’s been so much going on in my personal life and not sleeping well that I thought I just wasn’t remembering right. Frostwhite was one of the last series ones we needed, and just recently got her. Her wings were pale slightly opaque blue, now they are completely translucent. Thought I was just losing it, but then noticed it on our Blazebursts series four breakout beasts. And our Blushwings from series three crystal creatures. Most noticeable is Blushwing she started out as the milky opaque pink and now my sons is completely translucent. I took pictures after I did mine so you can see the difference from right out of package and a couple days after being assembled. Also have some more pictures of series two I’ve done :)

PrincessTiffy, it's very interesting that some of the plastic pieces you got that are supposed to be translucent, is solid and cloudy instead, later changing to be the translucent like in the advertisements. I wonder if this is caused by temperature, maybe? If they were stored in a cold place while being mailed to you, maybe they went cloudy and maybe they warmed up once they got to your house and so turned translucent?

Oh, I just went back and read the previous pages and noticed sd_dreamcrystal said this before:

Maybe it's being wet or in the slime that makes the plastic cloudy, and drying out makes them translucent again!

I really like her colors, she reminds me of Rainbow Dash! If Hasbro had kept Rainbow Dash as an elegant character when evolving from G3 to G4, instead of turning her into a tomboy, they might have done a design like this! But I don't like the little jewels on her wings instead of the claws. I moved those yellow jewels to the armor of some of my other C.C.'s after this photo shoot LOL.

You can't tell in the photos but she's not just solid white, she has a sort of pink shiny sheen to her white plastic. Kinda reminds me of Celestia in FiM, white coat with that pale pink outline.

Also you can see her wings are solid white plastic, but in the advertisement image her wings are translucent, so I wonder if her wings will clear up in a few days? Time will tell!

Well this is disappointing. I ordered nine of the Series 2 eggs from Amazon and today my package arrived... and all nine of them are Series 3.  :cloud:

I assume Amazon ran out of Series 2 and just sent what stock they had, which is Series 3. I'm sad because probably they're not going to get any more stock of Series 2, since the company has moved on to the next series. Sigh. I wish I had ordered earlier...  :cry:

At least Amazon takes returns. I'm going to check the codes on the eggs and keep the Series 3 CC's that I want, then send the rest back.

Does anyone know where to buy Series 2? There aren't any on ebay, unfortunately.

I’m so sorry you didn’t get what you want. That’s good that you got all of series three though. Since they only have 7 characters but still kept the 9 eggs per box There’s two Blushwings and two Flutteris in each box.

There is someone selling a series two Fairya and someone just listed the series two tan antelope. The person who has the Fairya also had the one I was missing and after watching it for a couple days I got sent an offer for $20 and took it since it was the last one I needed. ToyWiz has series two but their more expensive.

I don’t  remember the rainbow maned ones name, but she’s one of my favorites. Her wings will get more translucent :)

Thanks for the full Crystal Creatures codes, Dragonflitter! I managed to get Rubywing and Rosestone today (yup, we're still with Series 1 here, might as well get all the ones I want in the meantime).

And here's some questions for everyone just to spark up some conversation: do you prefer Crystal Creatures or Breakout Beasts? Which one is your favourite? Are you inclined to certain colours or animals?

I'm particularly inclined to the horse-like beasts/figures, for obvious reasons  :satisfied: But for some reason, I like the more recent dinosaurs/wyverns than the dragons in both series. I feel the dragons are too... samey?

There's a person selling the series 2 CC's on Amazon and they use the code to tell you which one you get. But they're charging $30 each... which is pretty steep. I only needed two more to complete my series 2 set, so I caved in and bought them lol.

I definitely prefer CC's to BB's, but I do admire the BB's. I like the face sculpts of the CC's because they look like real animals, while BB's look more like screaming monsters lol. But they're still pretty cool.

The other thing I like about CC's, for the most part they are real creatures, deer or unicorn or dragon, or kirin or lion wyvern. The BB's are more like frakenstein monsters, there's lots of different parts (werewolf, dragon, etc.) that get combined in different ways.

The only exception for the CC's is that one creature in series 3 that looks like a wyvern with a dragon body but they gave it a lion head... That is the only CC I don't like lol. It just makes no sense and it looks weird. However, I do really like how they invented the different joints in those wyvern wings so you can pose them at different angles. The articulation of these little toys is really good!

My favorites are the unicorns but I really love some of the faces of the deer. When they get the right color combination with markings, the animal looks very wise.

So, the UK appear to have some of these in stock on Amazon!

....Bad news is, they only stock Breakout Beasts (waves 2 & 3). No Crystal Creatures at all, unless you pay high imported prices (£24 for one). I might buy a couple of season 3, since they're the cheapest at £6.80. Looks like they're sellers too, so I wouldn't be surprised if they're excess stock from the US (which happens often).

I have found out that France sell Crystal Creatures - Picwictoys have them in stock, but don't list a wave, so I'm guessing it's the first? Maybe when things return to normal, I can try visiting their Calais branch the next time I'm over there.

That is a bummer, Sora. :( I don't know why C.C.'s are so hard to find distribution for. I've been forced to buy from ebay and second-hand sellers on Amazon.

So I have an interesting story! I got one of the C.C.'s, the green deer Venusky, but when I opened the package and took her out of the slime, I found her face had a big paint blemish on it. :( I was really bummed. It couldn't be the body or legs, no, had to be the face that got messed up. Sigh.

So I wrote to Mega Blocks customer service and they forwarded me over to Mattel customer service. It took a bit of explaining because I don't think they know much about their own CC line lol. But finally they sent me a free C.C. to apologize for the messed up paint job!

Unfortunately it was just a random egg, they didn't have the ability to send me a specific character from an assortment item, such as C.C.s and B.B.s. But it was still nice of them to give me a free one, regardless.



Random: I still desire a way to return the clear plastic to the milky form it has when you first take it out of the egg. I've tried putting some of the clear pieces in the freezer, thinking maybe the cold would do it, but nope. My next idea is to bury one of the clear pieces into the slime I saved from one egg. Maybe the slime will return it to its cloudy state. XD Experiments! This toy is fun!

The seeming non-existence of Wave 2 is killing me. ;_; Wave 2 had the most characters, so of course it ends up being impossible to find any of them at all. :P

Yes, my theory is that Series 2 distribution was supposed to happen right at the start of the COVID crisis, when production and transportation of a lot of goods were shut down, so they just moved ahead to Series 3 by the time everything was up and running again.

You can find Series 2 for sale on Amazon from third-party sellers, but they are expensive.

It’s just been a terrible year in general for toy distribution, I think. :( A lot of toy releases from late 2019/2020 fell victim to the problems you mentioned... This has been the year of the scalpers, at least for me. :/

Cloudees has also suffered from distribution issues. They barely showed up in stores and I've had to resort to Amazon and 3rd party sellers. Of course now I'm down to the last 3 I want and the 3rd party well has dried up.
